what size is your computer screen?....why don`t you run an hdmi cable between your computer and the nearest flat screen when you watch a movie?....much nicer watching it on a bigger screen....
24" monitor. Never got around to the HDMI hookup. I only need about a 4' cord too, just never think about it when I'm out. Not that important to me I guess.

I don't think you know what an HDMI cable is.

If you do, I don't think you own one.

If you do, and you own one I don't think you are taking the time to hook your laptop up to a TV.

If, IF, you do know what one is, you do own one and you take the time to hook the laptop up to the TV I am damn sure you couldn't find what channel the TV is supposed to be on to watch the movie.
I answered and erased my answer 4 times before settling with this answer.

You're an asshole, plain and simple.

I have two 50 inch TV's both plasma. My friend has a 70 inch LED. I can honestly say for regular viewing I like either plasma better. These are all Samsung TV's. My buddy's 70 inch TV is about the same distance from the couch as mine are and it gives more of a feeling like you are watching a TV in a movie theater. That's great and all, but I think the picture is better on the plasma TV's. Everyone has different tastes and I have heard some people liking LED's better than plasmas. To each their own I guess.

if you decide to go that route, bluerigger is an excellent brand at a relatively cheap price..i have a 50 footer going between rooms with no signal loss.......

think amazon carries the brand....

A very strong NO here... don't buy the E series Vizio! I bought the 70 inch one 6 months ago - the picture was horrendous.

BUT, Vizio came out with the M series this year. I picked up the 70 inch M series (make sure to get the one where the model number ends in A3R, not A3). Just an outstanding TV - better picture than my 80 inch Sharp and also better than my 61 inch Samsung (which typically has the best picture of any of the LCD's).

Bottom line - M series great, E series suck. My two cents, based on buying both.....

Jack, I see you're watching tv on your computer. I'm not sure if you're watching xbmc but if you are I would recommend getting a raspberry pi. I have two of them. One for my bedroom and one for the tv room. They're very small and you can't even tell I have one hooked up to my tv. I use my phone as the remote.

On the raspberry you can run raspbmc. The movies and tv shows work perfect. All I have to do is change the input on my tv from input 1 to input 2 and I'm ready to go. Best thing I've ever had for movies.

Pf,
Dude, this cracked me up. Jaek and I just had the "hdmi cable" discussion a few weeks ago. He doesn't care man. Fucking guy would still churn his own butter if someone didn't shop for him. Well, he'd pay someone to churn his butter I mean. He's happy sitting in front of the smallest screen in his house watching whatever the fuck he watches. Lol. He's a fucking fossil.

Hope this helps,
FDC

I guess I'm still in the stone ages with BitTorrent and VLC Media player. I will definitely check it out when I feel like learning about it and let you know. Are more movies and more current available than with the method I use?

I was going to hookup that night, I thought I had an extra HDMI cable and didn't. One of these days I'll get around to getting one and hooking myself up. :0008

Christ, I'm 2' away from a 24" screen and works just fine though.

I have a 42" plasma about 4' away sitting on my desk. You telling me it's that much better?
