I am an assistant coach on my 10 year old son's baseball team and they won today. They are 4-0, but the best thing was today, my son was pitching, runners on first and second no outs. Batter lines it back to my son, he catches it and throws to first, 1st baseman throws to 2nd, and yes they turned a 1-3-4 TRIPLE PLAY!! :00hour :00hour :spotting:   :mj05: :em71:

Good stuff guys, keep it coming!!!!

Update: Our first tourney with this kid back we are 3-0 and play today at 10am, if we win we are in the final game at 1pm:0corn :0corn :0corn

I know this will surprise you but I got into it with the coach from this team last night. We played them 2 months ago and they beat us pretty bad, they rubbed it in too. Well they came waltzing in last night like they were the greatest team ever. We were up 20 at halftime, then I put my backups in and they got it down to 7, causing me to burn up all my timeouts trying to teach these guys how to break a press. So I had to put my starters back in, who broke it open again and ran it up a little, big phucking deal. This asshat wouldn't shake my hand after the game, he said "nice sportsmanship there running up the score", I said hey pal what comes around goes around, next time I won't call off the dogs and we will beat you by 40.:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

He went crying to the refs and they had 12 fouls to our 23:shrug:

Was waiting for the pictures before I finished my story. I can barely believe the way this all played out! Maybe it's the positive energy from this thread, maybe it's something else, but the way this went down was straight out of a book.

We stormed into Westminster, Colorado over the weekend as the bottom seed. There were 2 teams in the tourney who we have faced once, in our first tourney back in April, and they both beat us by double digits. And they weren't the best in this tourney! But like I said, this team has a bit of a chip on its shoulder lately. We ended up going 5-0 and winning the whole thing. We had to be 400-1 odds.

But the best part of it all was that kid. He had still not scored in what ended up being 8 games. Now this kid went 49-50 in our shooting drill on Tuesday at practice! But in the games, he was still shooting air-balls. All I could say was keep shooting, when you finally make one and break the ice you may never miss again. So, on he suffers through 4 more games this weekend of not scoring, BUT, playing great D and rebounding.

Championship game, we're down the entire game, and we're down 6 with 6 minutes left. We bust their press, get it to him in the corner, and he drains a long jumper....YES! everyone yells....now we press, steal the inbound and get it to him for the hoop and the foul....he makes the free throw. We stop them, run a play for him and he scores with the foul again! They call timeout, but it does no good, we end up going on a 13-0 run and win the game by 4, all started by 8 straight from him. 40 or so of us went to dinner after the game, and I presented him with the team trophy as MVP. There wasn't a dry eye in the restaurant!

More pics will be in the album soon....he is #13 in the pics.

Hudson Valley area.....NY
agent..that was a nice story...it's crazy how things happen in life...

good news...let's see....had a wedding in DC this weekend..got to see all 4 of my kids and my son-in-law.One flew in from austin, one drove up from ECU,picked up my philly daughter on the way down...and one just returned from college in upstate NY. The box "clan" was together for the 1st time since x-mas..had only 4 days together but that was great. The good news is when familes can all get together.I had such a great weekend..

The strangest thing happened on thur nite in DC .My son in law had never been to DC.So we went to the Lincoln Mem and Vietnam wall around 9.30 pm. it was so beautiful..the reflecting pool,etc...we walked over to the Vietnam wall and it was so dark. You couldn't read any of the sections on the wall panel. You could barley read the names except at the top. Doug Doody a close friend of my family and one of my sisters best friends was killed in Nam in 1968. I remember his name is in section 36....as we were walking we couldn't read any of the sections at the bottom... I wanted to show my family doug's name...so about halfway there,my youngest daughter put her cell phone down at the bottom of the wall panel...i did not tell them what section Doug was in....she said.."dad,we are at section 36,what section is your friend in"?...I looked up at the top and 19 names down was Douglas W. Doody........It's been so long since I have been to the wall I had no idea where section 36 was...and of all the panels on that wall, she stopped at Section 36... what are the odds of that...and if any of you have ever been there thats a long wall.... how strange...almost like someone above guided us...

Tonight I hope to hear good news...the 3 board of ed memebers that put me out to pasture because I didn't hire there kids are up for re-election tonight....I hope they don't get re-elected ...4 other canidates are running against these 3 because of me...All 3 incumbunts would of run unopposed.....but the community, students and teachers got 4 people to run...these bad 3 spent a lot of money on posters,adverstising,etc...the other 4 did very little but spread the word''remember what they did to box and one...
Sure hope at 9.30 tonight I get some good news...
