i have an altima 2003. Not the best car (cheaply made) but reliable and has enough little thing to make it a decent valued car. If i were to do it again i would of gotten a maxima or used honda accord (wife has one).

One of my friends has an Altima, had it for many years and says pretty much the same thing. Another friend had a Maxima that held up for several, several years. Nissan makes good cars, have heard really good things about Pathfinders if SUV's are your thing.

Chasing the Next Dime...
I like the looks of the Charger... any one own one with the V6 in it? How's it?

dogface

Dog,
Charger is Rear wheel drive. Even with Snows on and traction youll still wish for a front wheel drive in the winter if you havent driven a rear wheel drive in the winter.

But depends what you would like. The Nissan Alitma is basically the same as the Infiniti G35 and you can get the nissan for a song. Altima is Front wheel and 35 is rear or AWD.

You can also get a good deal on an off lease Ford Edge, which is a good performance mid sized. But really depends if you want style or room.

I have a CTS and it is rear wheel and love it. Even in the winter, but have been driving Rear wheel drive cars for most of my life. Have a Land Rover as our second and all I can say is stay away from those. Nothing but recall after recall on them. Probably going to get rid of it in the next little while as lease is up.

Good Luck in your search!

Or you can always go for one of these

you can get an 06 Deville for around $20K with 25-35k miles and transfer of full warranty. plenty of room, all the buttons, lots of comfort, ~ 20MPG, and trouble free. then you'll never go back :SIB

I bought my parents a 2008 Sedan Deville at the auction with 19000 miles on it for $17100

Check your figures Jack I think they are high but
then again I am buying from the auction and not a dealer!!

GM underpinnings though, even when bought out, they will still service them correct?

I am driving one of them today, a loaded XR with only 19k miles and $14,949. Seems like a steal... understnd same car as the Malibu, aslo based on a caddy?

sent this e-mail a few minutes ago to a service writer I worked with. Probably won't get an answer until Monday, if/when I do I'll post his reply.

With the closing of Saturn stores (I.e. closest one to Kansas City is Topeka, KS, 55 to 60 miles away) will any GM store honor warranty work on a Saturn? Also is the Aura under the 'skin' a Malibu? Thanks, Bones

My brother Dean was part owner of Saturn of Amarillo before he closed it after 13 years, and YES any GM facility will honor the warranty.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
That Saturn Aura is a sort of brother to the Malibu, it is mostly the same underneath the skin . But it is not a simple rebadge. Both cars are built on the same assembly plant in Kansas City. But the exterior, suspension and interior are very different. There can be other differences too, depending on the model. The Aura XR, for example, is the only other GM car here with the 3.6 L DOHC V6 besides the Cadillac CTS.

the Aura/Malibu platform is the "Epsilon II", and that is currently used on a Buick (in China), an Opel, and a Saab (next year).

Broke down a bought me another used car yesterday. The old Infinate had 225,000 miles and had gave me 10 years of excellent service.
It will be like parting with family member.

Opted for same car--
2005 35GX Infinate AWD with 280 horse V6.
Was previous lease car--took it to my mechanic to have him check it out 1st (cost $39) and he said only thing he could find was 2 belts needed replaced and front wheels could use new brake pads.

Hoping this one last 10 years also.

I am fond of those as well. You in sales DTB? I am also a fan of the FX series.

New car idea came in today, actually two one at last minute tonight:

I am trying to get into this for $19k, I love the way it drives, the two-tone leather, etc. (STS engine)
http://www.morries-cadillac.com/VehicleDetails/471452043

Then this came in via a friend. I can get a 2007 Ford Edge SEL Plus with Leather and Vista Roof as shown, with 15,800 Miles for mid $18k. That is a great deal from what I am seeing. I visit that on Thursday! (Becomes my top choice, great engine, love the Vista Roof, low mileage and loaded!)

Still have to look at it the dealership is a wholesaler (not sure what that means, direct from auction to consumer?) but they say it is in Mint condition, if so and the honor the number discussed... that may be wrapped up!
