if it can be proven that the ravens or the nfl actually saw the 2nd video,their nuts are in the vice...if it can`t be proven,there will be hand wringing and pearl clutching that they didn`t perform due diligence in obtaining the tape.....but I doubt that`s enough to get goodell`s scalp....he`s catching hell for the lack of a significant sanction on rice initially,but he already did his mea culpa on that issue.....

I`m no goodell fan by a long shot...but they have to name names...this anonymous source bullshit is just that....

Goodell has been very harsh with most all of his discipline choices in the past. Why would he turn a blind eye on this issue? Why was he so soft on this punishment?

He either knew and gave the guy 2 games and then reversed his stance because of public opinion or he didnt know but should have clearly known cause it was turned over to his office. Either way he will resign or be fired by the end of the week, I would guess resign with a nice parachute cause others, ugh the Ravens, knew. Fucking shit is going to get crazy.
it all hinges on whether he saw the video and whether that can be proven....unless people think he can be fired for not acquiring the video(which I doubt would happen given the owners` support)I don`t see how he gets the hook without knowing who the exec was and whether he contacted the commish`s office....
and another thing occurred to me...given the media feeding frenzy and anonymous sources,what if the tape everyone is referring to turns out to be the first tape?......won`t be the first time the media played games with a hot story...

It is going to be very difficult to prove that he indeed saw the video. My guess is Goodell takes a page from the Gov. Christie play book.....citing he had no knowledge that someone on his staff had access to the information, and that it never bubbled up to him. Probably not the truth, but seems impossible to prove otherwise.....especially if there is a good soldier in the NFL offices who is willing to be the scapegoat.
Last thought....this chain of events is truly unbelievable. Ray Rice's terrible actions lead to the potential undoing of the NFL Commissioner. The sequence of events is beyond comprehension.
That's what doesn't add up. He has backed himself in a corner. If he saw the tape and thought two games was the appropriate his decision making process is flawed. If he didn't see the tape, he looks incompetent.

Let's all agree this guy is fairly intelligent. Why would he not "officially" and publicly insist on seeing all video before he decided on the two week ban?

the whole thing boils down to an anonymous source saying the nfl was sent the tape(to an anonymous receiver) and then it was forwarded to some anonymous exec ... the nfl says they aren`t aware of receiving the tape.....
who is the law enforcement source?
who was the nfl employee who received(and confirmed the receipt of) the dvd?
who exactly did she give it to?
then follow the rabbit down the hole...
too many reputations and livelihoods involved to not get this part of this circus right...
anybody else hear that there was audio?.......a friend told me there was audio that was being digitalized......no confirmation of it....
