Im not sure why he thought i was being mean.. If you look at my first reply i was just trying to help out.. just like everyone here.. i wanted to know the reason.. the point buy was expensive and unnecessary and i wanted to ask his reason for it..

Keep on keeping on my friend. Not sure why people feel the need to question a winning bet. I buy points frequently as well (although I do care about the key numbers, a lot), and while many of times I would have won anyway, I score a lot of wins and a few pushes that would have been losses otherwise. This was the first season where I actively engaged in the buying of points as a regular practice, and I came out way ahead in those games.....i kept personal track because if the losses I took on those games cost enough in juice to take away all or most of the profit, I would stop the practice. But, that was hardly the case. In bowl season, as an example, two losses became pushes as a result.....i would rather tie and lose nothing to the book, than, well, lose to the book....and one Sunday back in October, i went 4-0-1 on NFL games, which had I not bought down points on favorites would have gone 1-3-1. Talk about a reversal.
Anyway, congrats on the win.....ignore the hecklers.

It's all well and good when you remember when buying a point saved your butt. There isn't a guy here who hasn't lost MANY games by half a point.
I see both sides of the argument, but at some point........don't you have to quit handing the bookie your wallet?
The idea of this game is to find an edge. In theory.......EVERY GAME you could buy into a winner, couldn't you? Scott could have taken Seattle +23 for maybe -1300? Hey!!! He would have covered! By somes thinking around here......that make that a "good bet", because it won. Still, it's ridiculous to others.
A person has to measure whether, over the course of time, he has made or lost more money doing this. That is the only true test, same as any other gamble.
I don't advocate what Scott does with these bets. The thing is........He doesn't need me to.

The thing is that no betters wager the same way. In the course of my posted plays this year I have bet big dogs, little dogs, moneylines, and favorites.
I just get overly pissed when people like edludes would question why I played this or that. He was a classic example of stuck in the mud wagering.
what ever happened to that loser anyway ?

There is no way to explain to some people a differant way to wager when it goes against what they have done all their lives, or they know to be successful.
The bottom line though is 10-2 and up 32 units.
