Awesome post! That's why I've always been a big fan of yours. And you didn't annoy me. But I do get tired of hearing that statement. Being a part of an ideology does not mean that you are lock-step with the overall body. I just take it that, in general, you agree with the principles. Now how certain individuals represent those principles is a whole different discussion.
I voted for Perot in 92, Clinton in 96, W in '00 and '04.
I am Pro-Life under every circumstance.
My two major concerns are:
1. Government spending
2. Strengthening our immigration policies and, even moreso, practices. I'm not against immigration in the slightest bit. We just need better control because illegal immigrants are an absolute drain on our economy due to not paying taxes but using our government services.
I am actaully wishy-washy on Gay marriages. I want to hold the union sacred to a man and woman because that is how I feel it was meant to be. But I am torn because of exactly what you stated. They pay taxes and they should receive the same tax advantages that I do.
I agree with you on war, in general. not jsut Iraq. Our general public is not ready to know the ins and outs of what goes on with a war, but our media is able to get us basically on the front line. This, in and of itself, is not a real issue until news turns into an opinion piece. I don't know of a news outlet anymore. They are all geared for an agenda.
I like McCain.
So pretty much, we agree on each issue you posted except abortion.
