Please do not underestimate the huge role of racism in this election. Many ashamed democratic whites are polling Obama because they cannot admit to the pollster that they do not want a black prez. The voting booth, however, cannot judge these racists.

McCain has this election in the bag.

In the South this might be the case.

...Oh yeah - by the way - Obama is just as white as he is black, lest we forget that mathematic reality.

Like you mention, I am certain it is true in the south. This is what kept the current Indian LA governor, Bobby Jindal, out of office in '04. I guess we'll see how it works out, but I am thinking that north of the mason-dixon line, there will be plenty of the same.

As for the 50% deal, I get it, but racists don't. To me he is simply a man with a good radio voice who is interested in raising my taxes. To them, he is a n*****.

The Greek just posted the latest line, you know the odds, they got Palin a 7/5 favorite over Obama on who will be appearing on the next season of dancing with the STARS. It's all about T-V ratings. What the people really want and of course what they are really interested in.

Maybe not quite the percentages here in Ohio but certainly quite a few feel that way.
This was definatley the democrats election to win...about the only way they could possibly have lost this election is to run a n*****.

10/10/2008 9:00 AM Political Party to have the next USA President
101 Democrat -300
102 Republican +220
103 Any Other Result +5250

You've got some nice lines if you think it's in the bag. I think that racism will have a role in the north as well as the south, but I don't think anyone would be afraid to state who they want to a telephone pollster.

I don't think the National polls matter at all but Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania are running from McCain and he needs all three.

there is a term for this..i think it is called the "bradley effect" named after the black mayor from la, tom bradley...when he was running for mayor his polling was very good...he was ahead of his opponent...but lost the election. the "experts" determined that many people were ashamed to say they weren't voting for bradley because he was black. and some people have determined that it could also be happening to obama.

This election is all about racism, from both sides. There are an ENORMOUS amount of whites who just can't stomach a black president. But I bet the percentage of blacks voting for Mccain is actually fewer.

I see Mc Cain is pulling out of Mich. And here in Wisky/Minn land. Info running wild he's puling his people from both and sending them to Ohio and Virg. His ads both places Wis/Minn will be cut in half
If Mc cain has to put more folks in Virg he's in trouble no matter what polls say.

Exactly. Who cares what the national polls say, anyway? With the electoral college, its 50 different races and the 1st to reach the magic 250 electoral votes, which is one more than half of the possible 538, wins the Presidency...

McCain Pulling Out of Michigan

Politico reports that McCain is closing down his campaign in Michigan, terminating his TV ads, and moving his staff there to Wisconsin, Ohio, and Florida. If true, this is a major development. Michigan is one of only two Kerry states McCain has any realistic chance of winning (the other being New Hampshire). If Obama wins all the Kerry states, as now seems likely, and wins Iowa and New Mexico, both of which are almost in the bag for him, he needs only one more state to win. That means McCain must win all the swing states: Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, and Nevada. Obama is leading substantially in a number of them. McCain does not have a statistically significant lead in any of them.

No doubt, but the ratio of white to black vote is in the 6/1 range is I am not mistaken.

I cannot imagine that Obama will win Florida. Not sure how Ohio and other states will react to a black prez, but my money says McCain in '08:00hour

For the record, it disturbs me until no end that racism is still such a problem in this country. I would rather folks vote McCain based on issues. For me, its a vote against my increased tax burden more than a vote for McCain, who I find to be too old for the job. Oops, did I mention that age discrimination remains a problem in this country.

Not true Smurph it is all over the nation.
I threw a kid out of my house the other day because of this. I said to him "what do you think of the election?" He told me for the first time he has paid attention to everything. Everything he told me about the election was Fox talking points. I just sat there and asked him who he liked and he didn't say McCain he said "do you think im gonna vote for that n----r. I told him listen you ignorant fuking Racist its guys like you that makes guys like me pay 4.00 for a gallon of gasoline. Get the fuk out of my house you ignorant asshole and go watch some news besides Fox. You know what is a problem? These guys that went to all guy catholic schools. These schools were a high percentage of whites (in the 95 percent territory) with no girls in them. Everyone i talk to from these schools says the same thing. Now my school which was about 30 percent black, you don't hear this type of stuff. These Catholic school kids are the same guys who get married when they are 20 then cry ten years later that they wish they were single, get a divorce, and then marry again within two years. Thank goodness they finally have girls in their schools. They are also very possessive when it comes to their lady.

good Dave, real good. Daughter is growing like a weed. McCain was in Des Moines the other day--why he is wasting any time and money in Iowa I don't know--he is going to lose badly here....

What? Barack lost my phone number again? I'll have to give him a hard time about that next time I talk to him....:mj07:

McCain should be giving up everywhere in the Upper Midwest. We are too smart up here to fall for that "Maverick" bullchit. McCain is G.W.B. only older and possibly dumber, which is a major achievement when you are as dumb as W....:D

"the bunker"
didn`t we see in the primaries just how dependable polls are?.....

garbage...

that said,it`s gonna take a miracle for mc/palin to win...the dems are already bussing in anybody that can get their hands on a gas and electric bill to sign up for the early voter/same day vote regiistration plan that basically allows people to vote with basically no i.d......all they need is a g+e bill...or something equally as ridiculous...

reprts say that they`re they`re bussing in the homeless..

no way in hell can they verify all these ballots by november...

mccain doesn`t get it....that`s why many in the media endorsed him as the republican nominee....he doesn`t understand that dems would sell their mother`s soul to win this election....

mcclame....you better pull your shirt sleeves up and get busy....
