Glenn (or whatever your name is) - Your post about needing the win against Washington and struggling is actually what pushed me to add an extra unit. Completely forgot about that game.
Welcome to the big leagues Rivers!
Now of course I dont want to see anyone really hurt, but a bell ringing for one of the cockiest, mouthiest guys in the WAC is something he had coming for a long time....
Boise played in Athens in 2005 and got steamrolled.....they at least had experience against the big boys and knew A.) what they had to do to win as far as gameplanning goes and B.) what kind of extra speed and power a major BCS school had. Most of the guys on that team last year that beat the Sooners learned from that experience between the hedges the season before.
Hawaii has no such experience. You can bring in all the so-so teams from the BCS leagues onto the island you want (purdue last year, UW this year), but it is just not the same.
I think thats the big difference between Boise vs OU and this craptastic BCS Bowl Game the bowl-powers-that-be gave us here.
Would not have a Hawaii-Illini Rose Bowl and a UGA-USC Sugar Bowl been so much better for fans? Its sad that after such a wonderfully entertaining season, two of our marquee games to end the season are such duds.
