Hedge....

I have to ask you....Knowing that people here will jump down your throat if you look the wrong way, why do you give them ammunition ?

I liked the show also, thought it was a great cast. But of course they have to cancel the show & there should be some type of investigation as to why these horses died. People should be held accountable if there was any negligence.

Watching a horse in the stretch run of a race is a beautiful sight imo....

Your right, I say things sometimes without a filter...I am sure they will investigate and start the show back up after they figure out the problem...it must be old horses running after their days of racing for purses is over...horses die daily at horse tracks and the show goes on:shrug: Maybe they need to use younger horses for filming, oh, those are the ones still racing for money...:sadwave:

Two horses died during filming, presumably during or after a race. They have had Animal Humane something or another present at all filming. These deaths were over the course of several months.
The latest horse to die was being walked by his groom when he went a little crazy, stood up and fell hitting his head. He wasn't even racing. So, it's a chance thing.
One of my favorites, St, Liam, died after a similar accident while he was at a stud farm. Damn shame, only had one foal season. Several other great horses/mares have died prematurely at the farm, without being in training or racing. A thoroughbred horse is a huge animal and frequently they are a bit anxious and headstrong. I would walk some horses many years ago at a racetrack and believe me, some of them scared the crap out of me.
As I heard, LUCK only cancelled racing scenes until they figure out how to make it safer. The scenes are very good, but you can see many times that they are trying to make real scenarios with acting horses and jockeys, so there's a lot of pulling and angling that would not usually happen during a real race in order to create a specific impression of what the script says, and that could be part of what leads to some injuries.

If three die in a short time.....yes.

If just one or two die it's okay, but three means the show should be cancelled? You can bet your ass if this was a ratings smash like Game of Thrones that there would be no way it would be cancelled. It's easy to do the "right" thing when it doesn't cost big money. Smart decision to cancel the show now, but don't fool yourself that it was an ethical decision.

I tried to watch this show but I did not find it interesting at all and the acting was terrible.

You can see a bit of how they film the race scenes here:
