Well, maybe they each are both. These are human beings after all....

I don't think most folks are at their smartest best in social situations--but as this fellow was acting along fairly predictable lines, the gal picked up on this (women generally better at these clues) and did the smart thing (for maximization of profit).
Was the gal unethical? Especially face-to-face, infront of millions--but why should that make any difference?
