Newsflash; Favre will suck.

If he plays the season (I doubt it) then Vikes miss playoffs. Good news is that punters should make some money betting against them.

Short term sales flourish.....extra $$ in tickets, marketing and merchandise. Sounds good but a playoff spot would do that too.

They should've went for Vick....the drama would still be there at least and they would have a chance at a good season.

Ok, Alb, enlighten us with your wisdom. Why will Favre suck? Did you happen to see any of the games last year in NY when he was leading them to the top of that division? Before the injury took over? I'm not saying he's going to be all pro, or even really good, but the intangibles he brings to an already very good offense (and terrific defense) makes them better. He will read defenses better, will allow the offense to run more formations and plays, and the team will benefit from Favre getting the benefit of officiating calls, which he's always gotten. Yes, he'll throw interceptions, but they already had two QB's notorious for that. With a surgically repaired throwing arm he'll probably throw the ball better than last year, at least. He'll get to play at least 10 games inside domes, so the cold won't get to him in most games, which will help an old guy.

Lots of positives in this. Curious why you think he'll suck?

Mike Vick??

That guy blows. Maybe one of if not the worst passing QB to ever take a team to the playoffs.
Two years off and suspended is better than Favre?
NO WAY.
Jets were 4-12 the year before and Favre takes them to 9-7 and was 8-3 before injury kicked in.

Vikes play in a weaker conference with a MUCH better defense than the Jets in a stadium that Favre has put up monster numbers in.
Healthy Favre and the Vikes are serious contender.

Vick is a criminal who is showing some serious fake remorse. The guy is ghetto to the bone just like his brother. That family doesn't get it and never will.
He has a PR guy telling him how to handle everything. The only thing he regrets is getting caught.
Maybe Vick should play under a new name. Ron Mexico sounds good.

If memory serves, 38 year old Gus Frerotte was 8-3 with last year's Viking offense. I'd have to think Favre will be at least as good as Gus Frerotte in this offense, with the additions of Harvin and Loadholt. And I think this defense is going to be awesome this season, with the return of Henderson in the middle. That guy was a maniac before the injury last season.
