Clete Blakeman will be the head official for Super Bowl 50.

Since 2010 the Broncos have gone 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS with him as referee.

With the help of nflpenalties.com, we can analyze how the playoffs affect the referees? tendencies to throw the flag. Below is a table showing the percentages of plays that are called for penalties on a per play basis.
SeasonReg. Season PenaltiesPostseason Penalties% Decrease
2015-165.75%4.25%26.1%
2014-155.66%5.33%5.8%
2013-144.78%3.92%18.1%
2012-135.06%3.67%27.6%
2011-125.25%3.17%39.7%

So on average, a team was penalized on 5.75% of all plays during the 2015-16 regular season. That number has dropped to 4.25% during the admittedly small sample of ten playoff games this year. But when you look at the results year after year, the trend becomes apparent.

Blakeman's crew was involved in a controversial call at the end of the New England Patriots-Carolina Panthers Monday Night Football game on November 18, 2013. With the Panthers holding a 24?20 lead, the Patriots drove to the Carolina 18-yard line with 3 seconds remaining in the game. On the game's final play, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw a pass towards the end zone. The ball was intercepted by Panthers safety Robert Lester near the front of the end zone, but a flag was thrown by back judge Terrence Miles on linebacker Luke Kuechly for grabbing onto New England Rob Gronkowski near the back of the end zone. The pass interference penalty would have given an un-timed down for the Patriots from the one-yard line. But after a conference with the other officials, the flag was picked up and Blakeman announced that there was no penalty, without an explanation, resulting in the end of the game.[3] It was only after an interview with a pool reporter after the game that Blakeman would explain that there was no penalty because it was ruled that the pass was underthown and determined un-catchable.[4] Asked about this play on the NFL Network, the league's Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino stated a different reason for the no-call than what Blakeman told the pool reporter earlier: that Kuechly's contact with Gronkowski occurred about the same time that Lester made the interception.[5] He also stated that, "I wouldn?t say they are wrong ... When we look at tight judgement calls like this, and we feel that officials followed proper mechanics, we do not downgrade officials for this type of situation ... This play will not affect their postseason assignments."[5] However, former NFL VP of Officiating, and current Fox Sports analyst Mike Pereira opined that the penalty should have stood because the pass might have actually landed at Gronkowski's feet had Kuechly not made contact.[6]

Outside of the NFL, Blakeman is a partner in the law firm of Carlson & Burnett in Omaha.[7]

Blakeman's 2015 NFL officiating crew consists of umpire Jeff Rice, head linesman Hugo Cruz, line judge Carl Johnson, field judge Terry Brown, side judge Joe Larrew, and back judge Steve Patrick.[8]

Clanging and Banging is over prices dropped to 3.5 cents per lb i threw out old slips from years ago and my Jaw dropped we got as high as 14 cents per lb for cast iron steel was 4 X higher at 12 cents a lb only back in 2013 WTF???

I would need a huge truck that could carry two tons to make $70 and believe me 4000 lbs of steel would take a full 10 hour day ........... gas ranges are heaviest but can break em down flat each weighs at laest 250 lbs

so it would take 16 of them to make $70 5 days a week $350 about $80 in gas = $270 clear X 52 weeks = $14040 pure profit.

Copper way down top grade romex is down to $1.70 a lb it was at $3.155 a lb back in 2014

insulated wire appliance wire ughhhhhhhhhhh was $1.25 a lb now only pittance .25 a lb OMFG

I thought Arizona was winning the Superbowl
ok so they got blasted by the better team Panthers proved thay can handle top ranked defenses twice in playoffs they did broncos squeaked by steelers who were on 4th str8 road game and squeaked by Patriots who limped in with multiple injured reserved players

soory but i'm sold on panrthers

aqfter gathering this stat from anothers post

2. Turnover Ratio. Forty-one of the 47 Super Bowl champs had a positive turnover ratio; 21 of the 47 had a +10 or more turnover ratio in the regular season. While the Broncos turnover differential was 0, the Seahawks led the NFL with a +20 turnover ratio.

Donkeys are - 4 Panthers PLUS phucking 21 baby Game over right there might be as bad or worst than Seahwks thrashing but i'll give denver more than 8 points ...... 18 points but panthers hit hi 30's or 40's
