:142slap: don't be that gullible :mj17:

Sorry I am new to internet forums. This is my 1st computer, but I have been a life long fan of sports....all 88 years of it.

I guess I have to re-learn to understand the new age humor and sarcasim, if that is what this is, maybe I am all mixed up and making myself really looking like a old putty bag.

Sorry.

reading the previous things hockey has written I wouldnt be surprised if he was being serious

And I do agree with you sinon - that could be the worst top 5 list I have seen out of anyone this year

ill still contend usc is the team that could give ohio state the most trouble. a loss to oregon state isnt going to change that. while usc doesnt deserve to be in the top 5 after that loss, they still are a top 5-caliber team.

to me, the 5 best teams in the country, records aside, are ohio state, michigan, texas, lsu, and usc. i know that sounds preposterous leaving florida out. and im a huge meyer fan. but i just dont see them as one of the 5 best. and lsu, despite their struggles to score in those big games, just puts so much talent on the field that they can beat anyone. but coaching kills them.

i just call it like i see it. listening to scott's nonsense is comical. his spin is amazing. but i still have to go by what i see. when i see usc playing to their potential, i see a scary team. they play games in spurts. the 1h of the arizona state game. the final 15:00 of the oregon state game. they make a lot of mistakes yet still almost win on talent alone. doubt theyll be in the national title picture. and they dont deserve to be in the top 5 after a loss to a team like oregon state. but when i look at the 5 best teams in a vacuum, usc is one of them

your right on about LSU and SC...IMO LSU has the best defense in the SEC if not country and I really thought at the start of the season their running game would be a lot better...I think Chris Leak is the Gators down fall more so than Meyer and Carroll is a great coach with a talented team...

LSU cant win shit as long as that buffoon Les Miles is at the helm.

Maybe that is just me being grumpy again..like when I said the Big 12 North is a joke or that Nebraska still isnt very good. Or that the Big East is a fraud.

But I am sure the criticism of me has absolutely nothing to do with me not agreeing with other folks' comments and positions.

I once told GMan that I didnt think Monmouth could beat USC. He must have missed the post else he would probably bash me as well.

5 best teams in my book

none are really appealing when comparing to the "best teams" in the past few years, in fact esch team on the list other than mich would likely get drilled by last years team from that same school

All I know is that if UM beats OSU in their building and OSU or ND gets a rematch in the desert, then someone should be shot.

I'm also in the camp that says Louisville and WVU shouldn't get a sniff of the big one unless all the SEC teams have 2 losses.

true dat CWood..but I still hope the Cards get the win tmrw night. OSU, Fla, and Mich are the best teams in the country..jmho.

I was dead serious about what I wrote. If anything I made the mistake not having LSU in the top 5. They do have talent to play & beat anyone in the country. Bad coaching or officiating doesn't determine the real talent a team has or does not have.

Boise St will get to the BCS & show the world they are for real. Only in I-A football does an undefeated team have no shot at the title. What a crock!

Gman is right, USC is a legit top 5 team. Anyone who can't see that based on what they have on both sides of the ball is a flat out idiot!

They played like utter crap against Oregon St, turning it over 4 damn times. Yet in no time, they were right back in the game & almost winning it. They play so well in spurts this season. If they were consistent, they'd throttle just about everyone.

How much you wanna bet that SC beats Ore st. Hockey has SC #1 and Boise right around #12 on his list?

Lets see Boise beat Ore st. who beat SC who is the best team in football = Boise #1

Is that your logic Hockey?

I dont think anyone has ever argued that SC doesnt have alot of talent, but SC is only a top 5 team IF...... and IF they didnt...... and IF.......

We could do ifs all night, but after we play the game they are just not a top 5 team. Lets flip the coin adn do some IFs on the other teams SC played. IF wash had more time they win. IF ASU didnt kill themselves with penalties and TOs they win by 2 TDs. IF refs dont bail out SC at thier goaline with WSU then WSU wins. A top 5 team that could easily be 3-4?

And IF.............

Louisville, WV, Rutgers all dont beat each other...
Boise loses AT San Jose ST or Nevada........
Wisconsin didnt lose at Michigan.......
LSU could run the ball........
Whatever?:scared :mj07:

There is so much football to go, this thread needs to be moved to Teams and thier Fans or what ever its called...........:sadwave:

I only read the first 8 words of your post because you have now shot any and all creditability to your college football knowledge claiming Boise as a the best in the country...that team wouldn't be undefeated in a BCS conference...they would be a four or five loss team in the SEC...

Sorry Sinon for the ridicule because this guy is actually serious...:142smilie
