Can't wait for Nick Douglas to find this thread and condescendingly tell all of us uninformed, uneducated and downright dumb fans how good all of this talk is for the game of college football...:mj07:

played louisville (-4.5) over wvu before the season started. someone said the line opened at louisville (-1.5) for next thursday night. and i think that number is nuts. louisville (-7) or less is a major bargain next week. they are capable of winning by 10+ if they play a clean game. much respect for wvu but theyll be a BCS afterthought by next weekend.

Still smoking the good stuff ^^^^

... and how convenient it would be to all the alumi to have the bowls pick their teams now so that he can get a good price on tickets for the Holiday Bowl.

I hate to admit it but I agree with you WOX. Michigan and Ohio St are the two best teams in the country. Doesn't matter who plays Ohio State though, nobody will beat them this year. Ohio State is way too talented and has too much experience and leadership to lose. Troy Smith will win the Heisman and Buckeyes will win the National Championship.

So Cal
Hold your horse's gentlemen. Still much football to be played.

IMO even if WV or UL finish undefeated they should be left out.

I would like to see Michigan Vs Texas

ANY and EVERY BCS conference team without a loss is goin to be ranked ahead of any other one loss team by the end of the year.......... human polls will see to that, and carry a lot of weight. And that's how it has ALWAYS been too.

All I know is that if UM beats OSU in their building and OSU or ND gets a rematch in the desert, then someone should be shot.

I'm also in the camp that says Louisville and WVU shouldn't get a sniff of the big one unless all the SEC teams have 2 losses.

if LOUISVILLE OR WVIRGINIA STAY UNDEFEATED THEY WILL PLAY FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP PLAIN AND SIMPLE THEY HAVE QUALITY GAMES LEFT TO INSURE THAT THE ARE RANKED 3 AND 5 NOW IF THEY BOTH LOSE WHICH I DOUBT ITS WIDE OPEN

So much hate for the Big East.

That conference is much better than half the other BCS conferences.

Get used to seeing this happen.

I wouldn't say get used to it. Big East is having a very unexpectedly good year, but i doubt it continues, and is liable to be the sorriest conference in the bcs in the near future.

Lousiville is trying to become a big time program, and it can be argued, already is one. West Virginia is having as good a year as they can hope for, and rutgers is playing WAY over there heads.

Other than that you got a bunch of dog teams. I mean come on, UCONN, S. Florida, Cincy, Pitt, and Syracuse; YUCK

No, Pitt is great. Didnt you see the way they hung within 2 or 3 tds at home to Michigan State?

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

I think the most comical thing about the WVU/Louisville/BigLeast talk is that combined those teams have 4-5 players that would start at UM, OSU, Texas or Florida. Shoot, either WVU or Lousiville would be 10+ pt dogs to OSU or UM. How in the hell can anyone justify them being ranked #2 in the end?

So. Cal
if you actually look at the human polls and computer rankings and the bcs standings and know the rules (2/3 human polls, 1/3 computer polls) the teams with the best chances of getting in are:

fla
barely behind wvu for #3 in bcs but are ranked 7the in human polls (4th in comp) and will contiune to climb should they win out.....room to grow in human polls....and sos will ciontinue to improve as well

wvu
should they win out and fla wins out, it would be close between these two but i think fla would get the edge because the comp dont like wvu and has them at #13...they will get better but not by much and they are already #3 in the human polls so they dont have much room to grow.

lvlle
dont think they will pass fla if they both win out and not sure they even pass mich/osu loser

tx
the comp dont like tex (me neither) and has them 12th (too low) vs 4th (too high) in the human polls, dont think they can pass fla wvu/lvlle winner if they win out or even pass osu/mich loser

aub
not sure how they pass anybody if the team above them win out

sc/nd
both have big upside potential (sc even more because of potentially beating ore-cal-nd-ucla) but they are so far down the list and have to pass so many teams that they need a bunch of losses by other teams to even have a shot

cal
computers love them (3) humans hate them (11)....have a chance to get better in human polls but not enough into top 2

really think it's a 5 team race right now:

osu-mich winner
lvlle-wvu winner
fla

and dont count out mich-osu loser to sneak back into the title game if things break the right way but if each of the above teams win out my prediciton is

osu-mich winner vs fla

That is the matchup I want!! If both stay unbeaten, how could anyone want different? I know Big East Hate. Ask Georgia who the best team they played in the last two years is. Ask the Criminals in Miami. (Louisville)

If Wvu beats louisville and rutgers no pollster is going to vote the michigan ohio state loser in over them especially in the coaches poll. Wvu should finally pick up steam in the comps if it handles its own buisness beating a top 5 and a top 15 in my scarlet knights.

If WV plays OSU, andI do agree that if both stay unbeaten that should be the matchup - I will be on the over for sure. Watching WV trying to stop OSU will be a night of good fun.
