"the bunker"
Obama attacks the middle class even more than his predecessor

that`s the idea in Washington.....the middle class is the easiest to fleece.....we have a zero % interest rate for years without change and wallstreet goes through the roof...the rich get richer...

the middle class, who scrimp and save but can`t take a chance playing the stock market(a crisis would wipe them out) have no place to invest safely(c.d.`s are useless)..the borrowers and those who aren`t as responsible have a borrowing playground.....it`s the responsible savers(the people doing the right thing) in the middle class that get squeezed from every direction.....

it`s a bad situation...

On the course!
After playing with the figures quite a bit today it seems it's the older folks that get the shaft. We get it shoved right up the ass.

Older people use health insurance more than the young. It's as simple as that.

BTW: The cost of an apartment in Vegas would be more costly than staying at home, and paying the $1365

Sure they do, but the younger people also face the pain of increasing premiums. The younger people also absorb much of the increase in usage. The reality is that most of the people who were uninsured before Obamacare were so because they were sick and couldn't afford the premiums because of their many illnesses. The upside of Obamacare is that they rightfully are able to get insurance now. The downside, is that the healthcare costs of insuring these newer enrolled people were much more last year than anticipated. So....premiums are jumping once again.

At the end of the day this is nothing more than another tax, veiled as the ACA.

My family of 5 paid 900$/mos this year for the absolute cheapest plan. HSA, full out of pocket costs until we met our family deductible of 11k. The only upside was as an HSA we were able to put away 6650$ into the HSA that was tax deductible.

So what does BCBS do this year? Completely remove any option of an HSA. None. Can't get it anymore. And our "new" plan they offer has worse benfits but is now up to almost 1300$/mos. NC has some of the highest increases in the country.

Don't get me wrong, it sucks but doesn't cripple my family. But it does cripple many people in this country. It was built on a bunch of lies.

In closing, I will tell you this. Everything going on is being done so with one ultimate goal in mind: a single payor system, uncle sam. We will be there one day, sooner than you think. Most people are just too ignorant to see what's happening in front of their faces.

I'm getting a BCBS HSA.

Illinois has taken a lot of the options away for people on the exchange or self-insured , but are keeping the good plans for the employer sponsored plans. It looks like we're being forced back into the corporation as our nanny system.

The insurance companies are winning

Yes but to be more specific it's the boards and CEOs of the insurance companies that are winning.

Take a look at United Health, they offer a HSA, you might get a better deal?
