Jack: I would like to ask for an exemption for my threads only. I'm man enough to take it and I want the opportunity for a casual debate. One caveat, I get 7 days to enter any of the basher's posted play threads to make a derserved comment about their recent performance.
I've spent a lot of time on this plan, please don't dismiss it.

Jack: I have a few comments I'd like to share, but I need to know if a "difference of opinion" (wink, wink) is okay to chime in with. Perhaps you could just reprimand me if you feel I cross the line and we can discuss a 12 hour Leave of Absence upon a second "violation".

I don't know where to post a reply to the closing down of the services section of this forum.
I am sorry that some people don't abide by the rules and ruin it for all. That is why you have rules. If someone disobeys the rules you kick them out. You don't take away the privilages for all just because of a few. I and many other people got a great deal of joy and satifaction having the opportunity to learn from the Services Forum. We all became better betters for it. I think that pulling the forum like you did was a knee jerk reaction that was very selfish and a very self centered act. Who won and who lost in this action. You won and we all lost. You proved your point so now you decided to take your toys and go home. Very imature act. It is time to get off of your high horse and give the people what they want. Enforce the rules, kick the bums out, and get that section back on line right away. If I ran my businss like you I would be sitting at home without any customers, picking my nose. Feel free to email me with an intelligent answer to my request. I put this in this tread so that not too many other people would see this. I don't want to start trouble, and I certainly wouldn't want to be banned for my opinion. Frisky

first let me say i don't care either way if there is a service forum or not...& don't take this the wrong way frisky...but do people, actually strangers come into your business & tell you how to run it ?....jack, as a business owner has chosen not to have that in his forum..whether he is right or wrong it doesn't matter...he made the decision as a business owner.....end of story..
I'm assuming Jack's has to follow the service requests because they help affect sponsor dollars, right? I will contintue to be a part of this site but doesnanyon know where else I can find service info? I'm not a strict follower but I tend to glance at 1-2 services from time to time when looking at games
wrong. if anything, i'm losing hits and potential customers for my sponsors and i'll lose in the long run.
it was a hassle that i don't need.

Don't take this the wrong way AR and believe me I do appreciate all that you contribute to this forum, but as a 54 year old man who has been around the block and has bought and sold several businesses I beg to differ with you. Here is why. My businesses are all private and I don't give people an opportunity to have opinions about what I do. This is a FORUM and when you have an internet open to opinions business then what you are saying is this is no longer my business but it belongs to all the participants. As a mater of fact it may not even be considered a business but a place for people to hang out. If people weren't here then you wouldn't have a Forum. Everyone in effect owns a small part of this place. If you can show me how people posting someones picks would cost Jack money then you might have a case (and don't say he can be sued because people can be sued for looking at someone the wrong way) but to just act out of I'm in control and I'll do what I want is very wrong. I know that Jack is your friend and I wouldn't expect you to act any other way but to defend him , but I also know, and you know too that I'm not the only one who feels this way. You do a great job on your picks and I do value your opinion but we can agree to disagree on this one. Feel free to email me anytime. Frisky

i've had possibly 10 complaints since i removed the forum. maybe a few more, out of over 20,000 registered users and many, many, more lurkers.

I'm getting tired of my requests to moderate and run my competitive chess forum with free sailing picks if there is enough interest. I'm only going to use the available bandwith from the service picks forum. I won't exceed it and think I can grow this place with new Russian and Armenian customers. Look at the big picture. It's simple supply and demand.
