Maybe you need to stop being a 'sober' capper. :mj06: Good luck nonetheless. I'll miss that avatar too. :sadwave:

Best of luck, Mully. You're absolutely right that your family and kids should be number one priority. Enjoy everything you have and channel all your energy into other areas. I doubt you will miss the stress that goes with gambling. Find some other hobbies that give you the same thrill, but that don't have the same downside. Good luck!

GL on your future endeavers Mully:)

think I'll ride the train as well, (This guy from Chicago will still be gambling around the net)

Like the posts from current "non-gamblers" of MJ's. Like giving up drinking, but sitting in a bar all day next to a guy breathing whiskey on you, lol.

At least now when Agent licks his balls, nobody will take a second glance.

I quit straight line betting like 6 years ago and still hang out here with you degenerates:mj07:

I play in about 5-6 contests and pools during the year that cost me about $300 and that gives me all the action I need every week:00hour

good luck Mully!

Hey Mully
sounds like you're a friend of Mr Wilson's ( Bill) , which is all good. There are a few of us in here.
I hope it all turns out well for you. I have one question for you
What have you seen in your handicapping that you can share with us? ie line movement against the move or with the move stay away from this league or that league.
I been on some bad rolls myself but I am a small bettor.
Any info about Fla you want I would be glad to pass it along. I live in Clearwater, near Tampa

good luck

Handicapping and posting....

Yeah, yeah...many of us here have said this before, But I truly mean it this time. Hell, If I could stop drinking, anything is possible. Never going to say never, but I really need to get my priorities in order. Lost my ass tonight on what I thought was a sure fire lock according to my numbers. Who needs the stress. I don't. Gambling is suppose to be fun and entertaining, but it's a full time job for me and I take it way to serious. I mean, I've won my fair share of money over the years, but If I really had to break it down.... betting all sports, playing on line poker, home games, betting horses on line and at the OTB,and going to the casino , no way in hell I'm up money over the long haul. Would make me sick to know exactly how much I'm down. Anyway, gonna concentrate on my duties as a husband and father. What better time than New Years right? Things might change down the road, as I've been truly blessed with my Great Grandfather being such and entrepreneur. Some farmland and real estate that has recently come into my possession should help me get out of debt, take care of both my children's college and get my wife and I a nice start toward retirement. This is what's most important in my life right now. I will miss the action and my brain won't know how to act without crunching numbers and following line movement. If I do things the right way now, there will be plenty of time "to play" later on in life.

Best of Luck and Happy New Year to all! :sadwave:

i actually think this decision you are making is smarter then the drinking one. Just such a huge waste of time in my eyes. I bet Oregon state yesterday and watch officails take away a touchdown at the end of the half when it is clearly a touchdown. Heck they even reviewed it and blew the call. Then im wondering how to figure out this kind of stuff (factoring in officials mistakes or officials corruption)when im handicapping. I still won the game but it is a disgrace what some of these officials get away with. Then i have no money on a game and i see a bunch of guys on the over in the LSU game and they are all furious watching one TD after another get taken off the board. In reality the guys had the game handicapped right but the officials took it away from them. Again how do u figure this stuff in? This is such a waste of time and if i was married with kids i wouldn't waste one minute betting on another game. I feel so sorry for these guys who are in their 20's getting involved in this garbage. They have no idea how much time they are gonna waste and possible the relationships they are gonna lose. Mully i wish i never wasted one minute doing this junk. It is not worth it. I wish you well and don't let anyone try to tell you that you are just in a slump and it will all work out. Enjoy your life. In the long run their is no enjoyment in betting on these games.

On my $20 bed
The only things worthwhile are College Hoops ML dogs, and the occasional golf bet. Everything else is like paying .10 to flip a coin for a $1.

Good for you, Mully.

Good luck Mully. I think the key is to take some time off, get away from it and get away from how much you lost recently.

Come back next football season and play a lot smaller. Thats tough to do but once you get used to it, it can be almost as much fun and way less stressful.

I finally realized, a couple years ago, that I go to my job to make money and I gamble to have fun.

You still need enough on a game to make it interesting, but I have found that $20 units is good for me. I have become a lot more disciplined and still love the action. I will occasionally get carried away and put extra units on games I like, but it doesn't make or break me financially.

Come back in September and make it a fun hobby.

Under a mask.
I havent placed(or posted)a bet since last years Superbowl.Smart choice Mully ,it really is not worth losing money that is yours.

I still browse this site thou, cause the people are the best.So once you get comfortable doing that without actually placing a bet its a breeze.

Actually its been great not wagering.
Yesterday I channel surfed the bowl games ultimatly I ended up watching a movie, cause I had not interest in the bowl games, which wasnt a bad thing.

it does not break me financially and it makes betting games fun not stressful

Good for you Mully. It sounds like the choice you need to make at this point in your life.

For the rest of you, stop being a bunch of pussies....stress, coin flips, $$$ down the drain etc...

Betting is GREAT!!!
