So I pick up my kid and feel a pop in my right groin.
It hurts and I think nothing of it.
Then for the next week I got a tugging sensation in my right groin area not my balls. It is unlike anything I have ever felt. It is between pain and uncomfortable.
So bothered me all week then all of sudden it is gone.
I think I am free till I picked up the garbage and there it was. My buddy told me hernia surgery is a pain in the ass and painful as hell. Any insight. Do they do a CT Scan these days to check it or does the doctor grab your balls and make you cough ? Been medicating with percocet when it becomes oddly uncomfortable weird thing is the percocet does not take away the feeling just numbs me.
Had hernia surgery about 5 years ago. Anguinial(sp) They inserted some mesh in my lower abdomen. Didnt do much for a few days after, was off of work almost 3 weeks. Surgery lasted only about an hour.

I've had hernia surgery 12 years ago, in and out that day. I had three small holes and small soreness, the only part that was bad was the first pee after- That was brutal. Surgery and techniques have come a long way, everything is quicker, shorter, and leaves the pt with quicker recovery times.

As far as the check, take note you other retards, the Dr will push on what's called your Suprapubic area, some will say groin area, to check if there is intestine pushing through the muscle. This is what everyone knows as a classic hernia. If he actually touches your balls, he looking more for torsion and if you don't know what that is....Look it up! I'll just say, that's more serious. If he not lookin for torsion, maybe he lookin for a date! Keep that in mind:142smilie

The number one way it's diagnosed is with the pushing and coughing method everyone is found of. You need to go to your doc and have it checked. Hopefully he's better than the guy that diagnosed me, I was 17 y.o. and he said I had 4 hours to live.

Good luck.................and cough for me...again....again

I read somewhere that a certain kind of mess they were using is causing all kinds of problems :00x4

Had the surgery 10 years ago, they put the mesh in, everything is fine. First 24 hours after surgery was worse than I expected, after that I recovered faster than I expected. Had the surgery on a Tuesday, back to work on Monday.....expect to be black and blue (and sore obviously). Keep a pillow nearby and if you feel a sneeze or cough coming on, cover the incision area with the pillow and press down on it, otherwise it will feel like someone is stabbing you (not joking here)......by the way, laughing will hurt a lot also.......good luck.
