Obama has done nothing but fill the air with hate for his country.

Bush deserves the peace prize more than Obama

I repeat he has done nothing, I challenge one of you to name anything he has ever done beside talk? I am all ears

The bush comment is hilarious.

No one is hated more on the world stage than Bush.

And obama has been elected president and won the nobel peace prize. What have you done?

If he was such a tough guy why did he bail on the national guard?

At least his dad was an actual man. W is / was just a spoiled little rich kid, nothing more.

Show me something w did and did not end up failing at or getting bailed out by his dad's saudi friends.

And his ranch in crawford he spent time at doing manly stuff like clearing brush was a non fucking stop photo op.

My favorite part is he buys it before he runs for prez and sells it as soon he leaves office.

It is a shining beacon to your close mindedness that you call out obama over everything and see bush as a great prez.

Interesting thought. Last week it was embarrassing that Obama got involved with the Olympic movement, and due to him being involved it was a great embarrassment for our country and for him. Now, he wins the Nobel Prize, and he and the organization are being ridiculed and it should be an embarrassment for him and our country.

Here, let me help you conservatives out moving forward. Just copy this on a note pad, insert words for the dots, and use it for all your remaining posts.

................. Obama ................. da base ............... embarrassment for America.

You're welcome. This should work for all of you. It certainly is easier than thinking about anything.

OK Chad I do have big Kudos for O that I just became aware of. Just heard he will donate entire 1.3 mill prize to charity.

quite commendable and should be noted.

I missed it in your thread Scott--saw it on Fox just before I logged on

--however commendable either way!

Gotta go--getting time for the grapevine followed by Krauthammer in panel--my fav 30 minutes of Fox each day.

While on that topic--I had to switch over to CNN this afternoon--Fox had damn pick up truck chase on forever. I wonder if people really care about these chases or fires out west--Gross waste of time IMHO

I just curious of what actions he was nominated for--

I thought maybe someone could enlighten us on actions of--if not no prob.
NEW YORK (CNN) -- President Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, a stunning decision that comes just eight months into his presidency.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee said it honored Obama for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

CNN: What do you think of President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize win?

Fareed Zakaria: It is great news. But I think it's more an award to America for rejoining the world than recognition of President Obama per se. People here underestimate how relieved the world is to have a more engaged, less bullying America.

CNN: What has President Obama done specifically to deserve the award?

Zakaria: Quite a bit, in fact. He ended many "war on terror" practices that made people (both inside and outside the country) see America as betraying its ideals; he reached out to the Muslim world in a way that hasn't been done before; he made proposals to reduce the world's nuclear arsenals; he re-engaged on the Israeli-Palestinian issue; he started winding down the Iraq war. All this collectively adds up to a changed American profile in the world.

CNN: Will the award make a difference?

Zakaria: Obama's outreach to the world is an experiment: He wants to demonstrate at home that engagement does not make America weak.

For decades, it's been thought deadly for an American politician to be seen as seeking international cooperation. Denouncing, demeaning and insulting other countries was a cheap and easy way to seem strong. In the battle of images, tough and stupid always seemed to win.

President Obama is gambling that America is now mature enough to understand that machismo is not foreign policy, and that grandstanding on the global stage just won't succeed. In a new world, with other countries more powerful and confident, America's success -- its security, its prosperity -- depends on working with others.

After a day to digest seems consensus from both sides no one has answer to my initial question--what has he done

in reviewing further it was noted he was nominated only 2 weeks after taking office.

Even the left a little embarrassed :)

This is Ridiculous -- Embarrassing, Even - Ruth Marcus, Washington Post

--can't really see the outrage myself--after all who doesn't know that that this is liberal outfit from Norway--seperate from the rest of Nobel prizes (Swedish)

What more proof do you need when Reagan brings down iron curton-ends cold war-and does "in fact" eliminate thousands of nukes--and gets zilch--

--but have to give O a heads up on change--
Now to along with changing classic Kennedy phrase to "Ask not what you can do for your country but what your country can do for you--we now have another reversal from the great one for liberals to teach their children--

"Success is 99 percent aspiration and 1 percent perspiration." :)
