Wasn't there something written into the bylaws of the corporation that if you choose a team and their opponent come out wearing 75-year old retro hot uniforms, your play automatically switches from the team you choose to their opponent?

You are partially correct. This rule was in the original articals of confederation, HOWEVER there was a stipulation added during the "Great Revisions of '93" which did not allow females, homosexual men, metrosexual men, or Michael Irvin to take advantage of this rule. ...I think we can all remember what happened to require said stipulation - we do not want to go down that road again, do we?:SIB
