I am an Auburn fan, and yet, No Way do I agree with McElroy being dumb? the kid has not lost a game in two years.......

Don't really think that has anything to do with someone's intelligence. Hell look at Vince Young's wonderlic test. That guy had a pretty good record in college. McElroy is more of a product of a good team. He has always had great defenses that allow him to not have to do much himself.

When a team is good the QB always gets too much praise. When they're bad, they get too much criticism. McElroy is certainly helped by having a great defense and Mark Ingram to hand the ball off to. They are at least as much, if not MORE of a reason that Bama hasn't lost a game in two years, IMO.

Maybe 'dumb' was too harsh, but he has a tendency to hold on to the ball way too long. It's better than throwing picks, I guess, but what's wrong with throwing the ball away.

He graduated in three years with a degree in business, and in the graduate program with a 3.87 GPA, if you think that is compariable to vince young:shrug: I guess your correct....

It sounds like you know more about your rivals' players than your own. What did McElroy eat for breakfast as a child?

Fair enough. Maybe poor choice of wording on my part, but as I write this McElroy just took ANOTHER sack when there was no reason to. :142smilie

4 yards from the sidelines, with a receiver standing NEXT to the sideline, but he chose to tuck the ball and take the sack. He had plenty of time to throw it out of bounds, and it would not have been grounding since the receiver was just a few yards away from him. It's like the guy just has a complete lapse of judgment out there.

Kid makes good grades....

I'm still calling for a SC turnover. Upgraded to a pick 6?

Not to belabor the point, but there doesn't have to be a correlation between a person's regular IQ and they're football IQ. McElroy could be a Rhodes Scholar in the classroom, but still make poor decisions on the field.

I remember having some teammates that were the walking definition of a 'meathead,' but they were practically savants when it came to the x's and o's of football.

I'd love to see a steady dose of Ingram on Bama's next possession. But first they have to get a stop here...

Barring a miracle, that score should do it. That sucks, I was really hoping for OT in this one...
