Hedge, I was spending over $60 a month on a land line that I barely used, I bought the magic jack with a 5 year package, NO Regrets. I still barely use my land line but I keep the $60 a month.

Who still has a landline and why.?

I have a land line through my cable provider. I use it to place and receive calls, although I use my mobile phone more often than not.

I also use it to send faxes in the event internet is down. Plus, my residential security system contacts emergency services using this land line.

I blocked ex wife from contacting me on my cell :00hour

Not to tell you what to do, as i obviously know nothing of your relationship with your ex, but what if an emergency arises while your kids are with your wife? Blocking her from calling your cell will seem quite foolish in the event of an accident or other emergency involving one of your kids.....particularly if you are unable to learn of it in a timely manner.

she blocked me first  no text or calls, she can call me on her home phone to my cell because I do not know her number, I know it seems foolish to block her but no more texts or phone calls from her cell, is nice :0074 I haven't called her in 3 months and she calls me all the time, in fact she called me Wednesday night at 11:30 at night

me too, its 60 bucks a month too, trying to cut expenses I do not need, so going to try magic jack

what else can I cut out of regular expenses? cut coupons, not that I am poor by any stretch, but living alone I do not need extras I never use, and I don't do budgets very well, I am used to buying whatever I want whenever I want:facepalm:

You aren't in the 911 network if you don't have a home phone (unless things have changed in the last couple yrs). You can remove everything from your land line and should be able to get it down to around 20-25 bucks a month after taxes.
