Sorry for the loss box. Sounds like she will be missed by many. Nothing more tragic than a young one losing there life. Hang in there.

tony (I wont post last name, but I read the article on the web site coincidentally)/box,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, and her family, just a tragedy. Such a terrible thing that really puts everything in perspective on how important family is and to cherish every moment.
This hit home with me similarly a year ago this november, had a class in college and became friendly with a girl sitting in front of me, we'd talk all the time and became friends. One day I show up to class, and everyone is standing outside the classroom, some crying. I said whys everyone standing out here? someone says, 'Alison W. died' also, in a car accident at night, with no alcohol or drugs involved.....I'll never forget my car ride home, and how I was numb driving the whole time thinking about how you see a promising young person one day, and then they are gone. Even today when I hear the song I heard that ride home, I always think back to that.......Box, sorry again, and everyone try to do everything you can and not worry about dumb things, because you unfortunately never know when tragedies occur

It's always a wakeup call when things like this hit so close to home. I can only imagine how hurt you must be,being so close to her and her family. I called my son and daughter after reading your story and told them how much I loved them.

I feel terrible for her parents who lost an only child.

Thanks for sharing your story, Box.

Box,

Another story of a quality young person being taken way way to soon. I really feel your pain and only hope that all the great memories you have of this special girl/student in your life will sustain you in this very difficult time.

My heart and prayers go out to you, her family and all her peers. Mariana R will be so missed.

Take care and keep the faith.

Thankyou..everyone for all the kind words. They mean a lot to me.It made me feel good writing about Marianna today.Kind of like a medicine or an outlet.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Bear..I'm glad you can't give it up..
Marianna's father called me tonite. They asked me if I would speak at tomorrows wake.I told him I would be honored.
Again I wish I could thank everyone personally for your kind words.I know I'll sleep better tonite.

Im glad they asked you to speak at the wake tomorrow. We often reflect back and think about the impact a certain teacher made upon our lives and rarely look at the other side of the hourglass. Students can have the same effect and relationship on their 'role models'. This was clearly the case.

Godspeed and be strong in this time of sorrow.

IX_Bender-

Not to confuse the thread, that was one of the better points I have seen in this forum. Thanks for reminding the other side to the equation, as it is just as powerful if not more so considering we understand it a bit more and the process.

Cheers to you!

box,

I'll know you'll do a great job at the wake today. You speak from the heart. Your words are inspirational and the kids you've taught thru the years are lucky to have had you. There's no doubt you've left your mark and the memories you all can take will last a lifetime.
thanks for sharing your story, I know it's one I'll remember.

sorry for your loss,

ripken
