Do not see any irony. His name is Smith.
Will death threats now follow like what has happened to other Texas cops?

Its horrible and I hope they find the scumbag who did this.

People who send death threats on twitter and shit like that are cowards.

Now that being said its horrible that it happened but unfortunately cops have to be held at a higher standard then everyone else. Horrible situations like this does not give the police carte blanche.

There comes an inherent risk being a policeman, there should not be an inherent risk being a teenage black kid at a pool.

Cannot disagree but if a cop tells a kid to do something they should obey.
Has nothing to do with being black. Even black pastor in Dallas said cop was doing his job .
Black or white doesn't matter. Cop tells you to get on the ground. You obey.

Once again, right on. For some reason many still do not get this. None of this would have ever happened if they would have complied. I'd like to see half of you put on a uniform and hit the streets and see for yourself what type of danger these officers are in on a daily basis, then come to a conclusion. But I know most won't as they are truly cowards in life and always looking for someone to sue? Or someone else to blame, as many are quick to judge when they have never walked the walk.

And what exactly do you know about it? More importantly, what do you know about anyone here and what they're capable of or not? So everyone else here is quick to judge, yet you make a blanket judgement of the majority here in one statement?
Maybe your submissive nature and willingness to comply to the ravings of an out of control officer that is clearly violating the civil liberties of several minors, which still have rights in this country, makes you the coward? Complicity to tyranny, and abuse of authority has never been the foundation of our our nation or our social code. By your design, those that speak up, those that don't simply submit to authority, regardless of injustices being inflicted upon them, are the cowards? It seems like you have a very different definition of coward than any other reference I can find.
Then again maybe you just haven't come to the right "conclusion" yet.

Hope this helps,

Say this all the time....In this day everyone wants to run their mouth and challenge the law, how's that working out

The law & cops may not be the 100% correct all the time (like all other profession is) but it's the best option we have right now....Cops tell you to shut up and move on, do it....you don't like it, file a complaint!

Violating the civil rights of our youth? Really? He has a job to do, which is to serve and protect. You have a group of hoodlums running wild that refuse to comply with authority? So that's right? What happens to this country when no one wants to be a police officer ? Wow. I will say again in this case as well as others nothing happens if the criminal minded, disobeying the law society complies and does as there told. But again I know you feel as even though they are out of line and or breaking the law they still have rights.

Of course they still have rights?

What part of "the disturbance started when a mature white woman with her three kids starting yelling racial slurs at the party goers. Another resident, a black woman with kids, told her to stop. A fight ensued between the two women.

Who said this??! The teens?? That who we choose to believe. I've see quotes from the adults at the pool that have all stated these kids were jumping the fence in droves... There was drinking, pot smoking and loud music with profanity at a family pool. And when a security guard tried to get a handle on the situation the teens we're regime knows teenagers never lie the ones making racist remarks and harassing him.. But let's believe the teenagers who were drinking and crashed the party cause everyone knows teenagers never lie.. And on top of that a black man living in the neighborhood tells the truth about what really happened and now he is getting death threats.. The world has gone nuts.

So the cops were called and it had nothing to do with race. Now that being said that cop was out of control.. It seems he will pay the price for his ridiculous behavior and he should IMO

young people today do not respect authority or adults. period. that is the problem. was the cop out of line? sure, but the bigger issue is youth today having absolutely no respect for authority. I am a lot younger than most of you old guys here and I can say without hesitation that younger people are 100% more disrespectful to elders now than in "your day". it isnt even an argument, it is pretty much fact.

even in schools. students dont respect teachers. why? because they know the teachers cant fucking do anything about it. if you tell a teacher to fuck off, what is going to happen? suspension? detention? wow, terrifying punishments. young people do just not have respect. whether it is not being taught at home or some other reason, that is the issue. that is why these things keep happening. like others have said, and are probably right, it starts at home.

and everyone is always so quick to judge these types of situations. has anyone here been a cop that is weighing in? I would like to hear a response from a cop. everyone always has the game plan of how a cop should act and what they should do but has anyone here been in that situation? teenagers or adults, that cop, from what I saw, was by himself at least in the beginning. if that mob of teens becomes unruly, who is the one with the gun that they can wrestle away? a mob of teens can certainly overpower 1 cop if it came to that. I would think that a cop always has to think of what is the worst possible thing that could happen and react based on that, to not only protect others, but themselves.

you can argue all you want about how the cop acted, but the bottom line is it is a generational issue and it is going to keep happening. disrespectful, confrontational, lack of respect towards authority, these are the issues that need addressing and they start at home. putting body cameras and everything else on every cop in the country isnt going to fix those issues. they start at home.
