Mondays and Tuesdays are my $$ days for this track, but I like the looks of the card for today.. so here goes (NO huge bets or best bets on Saturdays for me though) -

1st Race
no. 2, Afilly Named Gilly, 5-1 M.L Liked this one a LOT in her last race and that sure paid off (she finished 2nd @ 25-1, topped off a very nice Zacta). Like her almost just as much at 5-1. Owner Campanella is a good one. I always wonder if he was/is related to Roy :mj03:

DOUBT IT, but IF anybody is playing along... put her with the 2,5, and 7 in the 2nd race (daily doubles) cause it fills in the "gaps" in the 2nd race bets. Otherwise, the play is just "Gilly" W/Pl/Sh (3x), straight bets. Normally, Daily Doubles are bad bets in my book, but gotta cover the 2nd race with them. And Philly is a generous racetrack too. :)

2nd Race
Only one way(s) to play this race..
Try the tri... 1,3/1,3,6,7/1,3,6,7
and
try the zactas too... 6 (12-1 M.L.) over 1,3,7.

4th Race
zactas... 1,2 top and bottom with 3,5.

6th Race
My nos. say the 7 is the horse to bet/beat in this race. I dunno bout that though. I will play the 7 but ONLY after seeing what the nos. 6 and 10 look like in the paddock/prerace thang first. If either one looks ready to rolll.. I'll be on it. Either one of those two could be a LIVE longshot here.

Asfaras the no. 7 goes - horse is coming off a layoff, but trainer Curry does well with that situation. Jockey stinks; horse is a consistant sort and has never run for this low a claiming price and that's a very good angle at this track. Payoff, 7-2 M.L., should be OK too.

7th Race
Let's just say the 2 and the 9 are the "BIG" horses in this race. Game plan is to put each with a bunch of others in exactas. Philly style zactas make that possible.

8th
Really would like to play this race, smells like the kinda race thats gonna test plenty of the lights on the toteboard after the race is done. Having the same problem I had in the Derby.... . can't find the dang one that's gonna light it up. Maybe the prerqce will help.

BTW, you PTs know that Philly Park broardcasts there races LIVE on the net, right? Just go to their website and there's link there. If ya need help, let me know.

Good luck ballin ;) - or just horsing around today.

Sorry, never made it back here today

Sorry, never made it back here today

Actually, I was hiding after every race :00x31
... only kidding LMFAO.

Not that bad of a day. Well, if ya omit how I did in the last race that is.... then it WAS a bad day :(

Wound up catching the 7th pretty good when I substituted the no. 10 for the no. 2 who scratched. No. 10 LOOKed clearly best in the prerace. Caught the W/PL with decent amount down (couldn't resist chasing losahs, which is NOT the thing to do, but got away with it today). No exactas. BTW, he was 9-1 when I bet him; the odds went down.

Caught the 8th zacta no. 5 OVER 3 hosses. NOT showing off.. but AM making a point for this one. No. 5 was a huge favorite (4/5) and had the "MOOCH" onboard too and THIRD choice runs 2nd. Only 8 horses in race .... and see what that zacta paid? That's why I LUV this place.

Now the main reason why I'm writing this, even if it is to myself; I'll use it as reminder to myself.... I got pretty much hammered in the last race.. ... exactas galore and all LOSAHS, plus decent amount (Win/Place) on the no. 4 hoss - another losah.

Now, I had that no. 4 hoss, GIANT FEET, figured to git out in front and go all the way. LOOKED great in the prerace too. He got out LAST (still not sure why) and trailed THE FIELD by plenty down the backstretch. He wasn't moving very well neither.

Can't wait for "Moider da bums MONDAY" or ""Tear up the track TUESDAY". AND the next time that there no. 4 hoss runs on ANY day too. ;)

Reason for post???

Well, maybe watching this disasterous (for me anyways) race will pay dividends for a future race.

PUT THAT NO. 4 HOSS, GIANT FEET on yer "BIG UPCOMMING BET" list. I think them big size 12 shoes may go better for us next time OR time after next time fosho.

SUNDAY

SUNDAY

Thought I'd just post a couple for Sunday right in this thread instead of starting a new one. Don't think it matters to anybody anyways. Let the VISITORS dig for it. LOL

Only two shots (are they ever) for today; gotta save the bulk for the next two days...

3rd Race , no. 3, Grand Terror, M.L. 12-1. Comments are pretty much the same for both picks today.... can handle or even prefer an off track which I expect for today, shows at least one somewhat recent race that beats anything in today's field, extra good jockey or trainer, distance suits very well. Oh yeah,... and the odds :)~ <-- hmm, that's sposta be my tongue hanging out.

6th Race, no.4, Gentleman Jim, 20-1. Looks like a real stretch picking this one but "Jim" goes for the gusto every once in a while by showing off some excellent speed in his attempt to wire the others. The fractions he posted in two recent attempts would push the more favored ones in this race to their limit. LUVIN his 4 fur. workout last week and I know he can handle an off track. Montanez can ride every hoss I play, fine by me. Probably not a single serious capper picks this one even in their 3rd spot, but I'm thinking he may go for it today and at 20-1 (maybe better) I'm on him today. Oh, nice name on this hoss too.

I'll prob. be doing some wheeling and dealing cause I wanna have a shot IF either finishes 2nd, but for the sake of posting something... .. let's make the plays Win/Place/SHow (2x) on each. Yeah, that IS only 2x for Show.

G.L.

So far....

So far....

Looks like I wasn't the only dummy backing that there TERROR hoss today cause they bet him down to 3-1. He ran pretty good even though his finish position wasn't too pretty. :(

The Gentleman turned out to be the biggest no. on the oddsboard and also the biggest no. on the results board :)

BUT, that no. was in the Show spot. UGH!
Sometimes hitting the Show spot heavier than the Win/Place DOES pay off.

For me? Did come out ahead on account of that there heavy duty Show price, not by much though, . It covered the dang exactas with some left over. Sho woulda liked to see Gentleman get 2nd though.

Track FORUM attendence looks a lot like the TRACK attendence today so I'll save the time it takes to post anything more. Thems rush the races at Philly (you know... get the suckers into the casino earlier) so Good Luck Mad Jackers whatever your sport is.
