As owner of 7 different vacuum stores throughout New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Texas for the past 27 years I have found that getting a woman a vacuum cleaner for a present is very common among older people, but not younger people. I would say at Christmas time, 85% of people who buy one for a present are 50 and older. It's just the younger generation thought of cleaning is "yuck", where the older lady really cared about a clean house. To many, a vacuum cleaner is just another quality appliance that they need to use everyday. To the younger generation it means "work", which most are clueless about!
