Have you ever managed a group of people? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no. If the company policy is no use of company equipment for personal use and I let everyone break that policy, how much is okay and how much is not okay? When I do try to enforce the lenient policy, how should I go about that? Should I call HR and say "I let everyone break this policy, but I want to write up Bob because he breaks it worse.". Or better yet, I'll just go ahead and write him up for it and have him take it to HR and explain that I let everyone else fuck off, but I am picking on him. Maybe it's a woman and now I'm being sexist. Maybe he's black and now I'm gonna get to deal with racial charges.
Ever want to get your dirty laundry exposed? Write someone up for not doing their job. If you have done anything that isn't on the straight and narrow, you'll get to defend yourself and possibly your job/future. Been there, done that.
As for the woman that is on Facebook, did you read my line about office supplies? If I email her and she places an order for my stuff, I will get it delivered in 48 hrs. If I email her today, I will be lucky if I see the stuff in a month. Why? Because she is fucking off on Facebook and doesn't do her job. She misses emails and forgets to follow through on stuff. I'm sure she prioritizes the VP's stuff, but the rest of us are at the mercy of her internet time. I end up going to Office Max and using my company card to buy shit at a higher cost just because of her personal BS.
With all the people out there that don't have jobs, I'm glad they have you guys to defend the guys that do have them but don't appreciate them. Clueless.
gmroz your off work early today :0corn
