can't comment for the good on *hours* of play..... but can tell you that i lost more $$ this year than last year so had no more left TO play.... last year i was comped for 2 of the 3 nights. This year was a total joke all the way around and will NEVER go back to Sunset unless it is free from the start.... the *group* rate is a major joke, yet i stuck with that figuring comps would cover it

turns out the going by the postcards they mail me throughout the year, avoiding the *group rate* would have saved me about 100 on room rate.

Hooterville at Sunset with Baghdad Bob

Hooterville at Sunset with Baghdad Bob

I was at The Sunset Station Sportsbook with a couple of buddies of mine on Friday and Superbowl Sunday. One of my buddies, put in a a couple of Thousand on The Game..some on Friday and a Whopper on Sunday.

He asked the clerk for some drink tickets and she made a smart remark while begrudgingly giving him "2" tickets. YES I SAID 2. UNREAL. Truthfully, Sunset looked kind of empty, the couple of times we were there that weekend.

ORLEANS was nice Saturday Nite. Nice book, nice bar with pints of beer and ale. Place was busy but not overcrowded. Perfect !

Saturday Day--Gold Coast Book and Casino was jam-packed.

Alot of these HOSTS want you to be bled dry on The One Arm Bandits, they could care less about Table Games.
Atlantic City is The same way. But you guys did plays some heavy time at them tables. Truist fact is that if you were sitting at a Machine, The Host would eventually be up your Arse. Machines give you no edge and that's what they want you growing a beard at.

If you ever get up a couple of thousand at one of these casinos, just walk out..You would be able to fry an egg on the Pit Bosses head.

I heard the Bellagio are bunch of tight asses too. I could tell you a story what they did to some guys that aren't whales but the aren't minnows either. They are not going back to Bellagio ever.

RIO was jammed- Hilton was very busy-SamsTown was busy ,but not overcrowded.

At any rate , i will never stay or play tables at SUNSET now that I heard about Baghdad Bob. LOL--and I assure you this bad news will get around.

GOOD LUCK NEXT YEAR--Make it The Orleans

I'm sorry to hear about all you guys having trouble this year. I know Ballys may not be one of the top places in terms of style and how new it is, but my host and the folks at Paris really hooked us up on Superbowl weekend last year when we stayed at Ballys. There were only 4 of us, 2 guys playings $25-$50 a hand bj, 2 $10 guys. We played a few hours a day, maybe played 12 hours total all weekend per man, they comped 4 nights of room, all our food, and I still had $70 in comps left.

Like I said I know Ballys isnt all that anymore, but its center strip, right near everything and we really got hooked up there. Although I certainly cant argue with the Orleans, they have a great poker room with good tournaments, good table games with generous rules and one hell of a bowling alley for those that may like bowling.

make sure you let the sportsbook know i was in your group. i gave em' plenty on the SB:thefinger

one good thing did happen there. rushing before gametime i quickly yelled out my plays at the window. only once or twice a year do i pay up front for a wager;) so i am a little slow figuring the juice and wager and gave a dime exactly too much. when collecting my few and far between winners on the game at halftime, the guy i placed my wagers with(who i tipped a $20 when he handed my tickets) yells out "there he is" the manager then came over and explained to me that the guy i paid for my wagers notified him of my over payment. he told me to come back after the game so they could run the #'s to see exactly what i overpayed. i have never dealt with a situation like this before and did not know what to expect. i will admit that i was leaning on the belief that they would give me nothing. after the game i cashed in another of my few SB winning tickets when the guy told me the manager had a dime to give me. i then tipped the guy who took my wagers 2 hunj for the good look out. all behind the counter seemed surprised to see me tip as they knew i had lost almost 3 dimes on my sb wagers. anyhoo, that's my story for what it's worth. i stayed at the aladdin(by the way, just purchased by planet hollywood) and was treated like a king. i luv that place. even better, it seems they let the working girls work with no bother ;) .....even the ones that look like they could be brought home to meet mom!:brows:

well, talking to Bob is completely useless and I gave up. I was supposed to get a call from the GM Susan but I'm still here holding my thang.

Sooooooo, I wrote an email (nasty one at that) from their stupid website "comments" section and to group sales. I happen to have group sales email because they are the ones that quickly sent me the bill less than one hour after the party ($7500 and change).

I'll let you know what happens from there.

At least I got a reply from group sales. Let's see if SUE responds and what position SHE takes. There's nothing group sales can do anyway.

Jack,
I am so very sorry. I'm really disappointed to hear the you and your guest had such difficulties. I will forward this email to Sue Ascanio; GM for review. I'm sure that she will be in touch.
Please let me know if you need anything.
Christina.

I just spoke to the general manager, Sue, and expressed our displeasure with the service we received from Bob Defroda.

She is now aware of a lot that happened to most of us, but if you want to make sure your case is heard by the right person, I recommend calling her yourself as I don't know everybody's last name.

She IS going through the computer and reviewing the play of our whole party but I think it's best if you call her yourself to be on the safe side.

Sue at 702-547-7791

She will be having a meeting with Bob and will get back to me no later than 48 hours from now.

I spoke to her more about Bob's behavior than comps, so if you think you got stiffed, please give her a ring. She's a nice young lady from what I can tell from a telephone voice.
