Oh sorry, one other thing: Not strangely enough for an Enlishman, I drink plenty. Thankfully, my wife doesn't drink (or very little), which is perfect - she always drives home.

M.rare anything else and your killing the flavor, don't drink body can't handle another rehab. Jeri has her share of fine wine, urgh whiskey or nothing, and is nothing anymore, hate smoke but live with it, hell wonder what smokers would think if I put in a big dip and spit after dinner, so keep your smoke outside please when I am eating. Tips well being in Vegas and Jeri being a dir. of conventions out here for many years at a few major mega resorts i have been trained to tip 20% for good service , for bad still give 15% unless she also thinks it was bad, then it is 10% never stiffed anyone they work to hard even if they are bad, they could be new. If i have bad service a few times we don't take it out on the staff , we tip tell the owner and you never see us there again , don't care how good food is, bad service 3 times is a key number then our business goes elsewhere. I don't spit why you eat I can wait till i get outside so so can smoking IMO but hey have no problem spitting if people want to blow smoke why I eat :D

Englishman...this one is for you.

-------------------------------------------

A German, upon hearing that the British like to eat their steak rare, (often referred to as "bloody steak") went into a British restaurant to try this meal.

When the waiter came to take his order, he said, "I would like a bloody steak."

The waiter replied, "Would you like some fvcking wine too?"

Medium rare, warm red in very middle
I tip anywhere from 10 % for bad 15% for ho -hum, 20% for good to 30% for exceptional. I have been known to walk out without tipping a couple of times in my life. Sometimes I leave a buck for a $2-3 drink, if a draft is $2.25, the server will get the 75 cents. (unless the glass is dirty or smells of old sponge).

BIGGEST PEEVE: Waitreses/waiters rounding out my bill to the next highest dollar then giving me just billsfor my change. Seems to be a more and more common experience. Waitresses seem to do it more than waiters. Once I got back 10 singles for an $28.40 tab, from $40. I consider it an insult and lower the tip drastically. A few times I got really pissed off & just left what the server "kept".

I dont smoke or frequent places that allow it.

Usually only have 1 or 2 drinks when I am out, if that. More than that if at home.

med rare.

drinks whiskey, scotch, a hearty ale.
tips: 15% unless she is good looking, then its up to 20% ;)

although, on more than one occasion when the service has been utterly horrible (like waiting 45 minutes for a burger and fries and an empty beer mug on my table for 35 of those minutes) I will take that time and write the waitress a letter as to why I left here a zero percent tip.

medium-rare... I live in Iowa where the steaks are great. Anything over that is shoe leather to me.

20% for sure

Drink a ton of beer.

Do not smoke but it bothers me if someone is smoking next to me and it is wafting over.

i like the meat to be pink on the inside - just like P :)

always tip 20% . no longer over tip, but have given 15% on poor service. i was a waiter / bartender and was damn good at it. after putting in several weeks @ 50 + hrs the knees really start to hurt. stiffing a waiter is uncalled for unless they are just a complete @ss.

i am a drinker. hate cigarette smoke, but respect your freedom to smoke. even though i am allergic to it.

Barely medium rare, need the juices stillflwoing and a nice red warm middle. 20% Tipper, less if service not adequate.

Really don't drink, and definite Non-smoker.

D.G.

PS: I am into on receiving service where ever I go. I find it very rare whether it is in a restaurant, or retail area that you receive good GENUINE customer service or raltions now a days. Many times I ask the workers, if they are having a bad day? Very few respond, if they are snippy I get on them!

I hate this too. Was at a Hooters a few weeks ago and my bill was $12.10. Gave her a twenty and she gave me $7 in change, all in ones.

My standard response when my server asks how I would like my steak cooked is; "Hell, just wipe his ass and run him on through".

Like it meduim leaning towards medium rare. Last Sunday had a perfectly cooked filet mignon in Frisco, though the cut was small in my opinion. Tip 15% to 25%. Sometimes when I eat with friends/friend and they leave the tip which ends up being small I usually sneak in some more myself without showing them up. Rarely eat out anymore but when I did I was a 10 cups of coffee nut :scared and my biggest pet peeve of course was when they almost never came by with the pot and I would go with my cup and go behind the counter and pour myself some.
