OMG Texas vs PSU we may as well just decline the game. What a waste of time.

Florida vs Texas

Bama vs Tech

OU vs USC

Boise vs Utah

its a playoff setup....not that mess you just wrote....and psu would give them a better game than you think

Texas should go but the Horns would get sodomized by Florida as well. If folks want to argue whether Tech should go over Texas I have no problem with that. But pretty clearly nobody is considering Tech ( nor Ole Miss winning AT Florida or Iowa for beating Penn State or Oregon State for beating USC.) The SOLE debate taking place - right or wrong - is OU and Texas and that game got played.

If Florida beats Bama I am pretty sure nobody is going to suggest Bama should go.

Great logic.

How about the fact that bottom line is we are trying to find the best team in the nation and you want to reward a team for losing to #3-4 on neutral field(which was Texas) as opposed to a team that lost to #7/8 ON THE ROAD.
Since when is losing on the road on the last play of the game to a TOP 7 team a bad thing??

Who is the better team between these two teams is the question and I thought we already found that out.

why do you discount the team that has the same record as you and beat you??.....

The thing NO ONE talks about is a playoff would be a mess as well.
Money is the driving force(we all agree on that).
8 team playoff would have to include teams not even in the top 8(Ex:Cincy,BC).
Why do I say this instead of just saying top 8 in BCS, because schools would never sign off on it without getting a team in the slice of the pie.
If you have a BCS top 8 this year then ACC and Big East get ZERO cash out of those game. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Boise wont get a BCS bowl..... Utah will. Unless something has changed....

In theory I could see the Fiesta taking Boise over OSU buty it isnt going to happen. Unless voters come to their senses we are getting:

Fla-OU
Bama-Utah
Cincy-BC
Tx-OSU
USC-Penn State

And the Cincy -BC game might be the only competitive one.

I think Bama will roll Tebow and the Gators next week. He won't get mega yards rushing vs the Tide.

Florida's game isnt set up between the tackles, which is bama's strengthand how they have been dominating teams....Florida will beat them on a fast track...should be a good one though...

Correct- you would be looking at 6 conference winners with all conferences compelled to have a title game and 2 wildcards with the shit conferences guaranteed a team if good enough. SO tis year you would have Tx/Tech and SEC loser competing for one spot - or maybe none.

Big 12 needs to do away with North/South standings, but keep teams listed as North/South like they do in basketball.
Then we get the best game in the Big 12 title game.
A 3 or 4 way tie and you send the TOP 2 in the BCS standings to get the best game(THAT IS WHAT THE FANS WANT).

HOW DOES A DOUBLEHEADER OF TEXAS vs OU then FLORIDA vs BAMA next week sound.Pretty awesome day. Instead we get to see Mizzou.

I dont see how Bama has a chance in hell.... But of course, I didnt see em winning all year either? Bama easily could have overlooked Aub today; with today's shutout, I give them more credit than I have been.

Not really - last year you probably would have had Mizzou v Kansas or still Mizzou v OU...the unbalanced schedules make it the same sham in most years-neither Kansas nor Mizzou played Texas, Kansas didnt play Tech, etc..

SEC winner v OU or Texas but look for a huge media push for USC to go ahead of a team that didnt win its conference...just like LSU's unjustifiable jump last year

Then I believe the one who misses out on the game would be going to the NC w/o even playin in the conference championship game.

I just cant see USC passing Texas or OU.

Mizzu would again have no chance at beating Texas due to their D.

The way OU plays D anything could happen I guess in that game, but still it would be highly unlikely.
