stole this from 2+2. let's see what you guys think.

The question: How many 5 year-olds could you take on at once?

The specifics:

- You are in an enclosed area, roughly the size of a basketball court. There are no foreign objects.

- You are not allowed to touch a wall.

- When you are knocked unconscious, you lose. When they are all knocked unconscious, they lose. Once a kid is knocked unconscious, that kid is "out."

- I (or someone else intent on seeing to it you fail) get to choose the kids from a pool that is twice the size of your magic number. The pool will be 50/50 in terms of gender and will have no discernable abnormalities in terms of demographics, other than they are all healthy Americans.

- The kids receive one day of training from hand-to-hand combat experts who will train them specifically to team up to take down one adult. You will receive one hour of "counter-tactics" training.

- There is no protective padding for any combatant other than the standard-issue cup.

* The kids are motivated enough to not get scared, regardless of the bloodshed. Even the very last one will give it his/her best to take you down.

i did not read the thread over there other than this opening question.

off the top of my head, without giving it much thought, i think i could take out about 40.

tell me how many you can handle and tell me why i can't beat 40.

I was on a two hour flight recently with about a dozen of then and I can tell you after half an hour I wanted to kill my fu*king self.

No thanks, they may not be able to physically take you out, but the mental strain a 5-year old can cause is not mesurable,

40 seems high

especially if they have any training which they do get for a day

they will all go for your legs to bring you down

after that its only a matter of a minute before you are out

i think 15 is reasonable and that might even cause problems

any instructor will tell them to put all their effort into pulling your legs out from under you

then you get an average of 40 pounds x 40 people is 1600 pounds of weight you have to fend off throwing rainmakers at you albeight without the punch, but still enough

15 sounds about right and even then might be a struggle.

yea, well, 40 does seem high after a little thought but i'm not sure they can knock me out.

if they do knock me down i'll still be swinging and kicking and it wouldn't take much to knock them out.

15 seems easy to me because i'm sure the first 5-10 go down fairly quickly.

my downfall is the years of smoking. i'll surely get tired and out of breath within a few minutes.

I say...41...you pick out the little skinny one and grab him by the ankles. Now you have a child-weapon to batter the sh*t out of the remaining 40...the only problem I can foresee is if you get a roomful of....:fit01:

I think 15 is low.

In a room the size of a basketball court, you could move around decently.

But your success rate is going to decrease dramatically as the number goes up slightly because of no room to move.

I'm going with 22.

And as I litter the ground with the little Damiens, are they removed, or do I have to step on them?

Depends on the training....I am with BDB 10-15 at best...you arent taking many out quickly if they plan correctly and in a space that large - you sure arent gonna catch many of them.

And while it is all facetious of course.... there has to be the mental obstacle/hesitation of beating the crap out of a 5 year old that badly. They are trained to not care - you arent.

no sir, your downfall is that you are retirement aged.

I would say 15 tops for most of us. For Jack, probably lower. No offense but you are a smoker, and would be winded in less than a minute.

Raymond could probably get 20 or more, and I would plop a dime on that.

My experience with plenty of neices and nephews, grandchildren, and years of working at camp when i was younger tells me that a properly motivated group of around 10 could do the job.

1. First of all, none of us are going to cold **** a 5 year old. If we were, we would have done it already and be doing a long stint in the state pen.

2. 5 year olds have no such reservations. They have a sixth sense that tells them to go right for the nuts. If you dont think a five year old can kick, let my nephew take a free shot at your nads. I promise that it will be five minutes before you get them out of your throat.

3. Five year olds like to bite. I can see them pulling a Tyson.

4. If it is enclosed with a fence, there will one deranged kid who has watched to much wrestling and will come flying off the top Snuka style.

I would make the 40 kids a 10 star special and predict a 2 week stay in the hospital for Jack.

I didnt see the rule about the cup. That takes away their best weapon.

i'll have to rethink this one out.
