Okay, today I noticed several posts on FB and signs in stores, and the worst of all.........a greeting card that said "Happy Father's Day to all the Mother's pulling double duty today".

WTF? Sweetest day, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Secretary's Day..

I am sorry but I think that is fucked up. Mom's get Mothers day and I respect the hell out of Moms but you don't see baseball players all wearing blue on Father's Day. You didn't see any cut away to players Dads during today's sporting events. No special lead ins to commercials.......nothing..yet that isn't enough. I give it ten years and we will be expected to give women a card for Fathers day if they are a single Mom but you won't ever see a card for Dad that says "Thanks for working your ass off and pulling double duty every damn day Dad"! Sorry, I just find that to be a very self serving bullshit thing to do. Father's day is for Dad's, not everything is about you women!!! Sheesh.

I just think it was really presumptuous to post that kind of crap like we should recognize what a hardship it is to raise a family when you are a single Mom as if that is sooooo much more difficult than as a single Dad. Father's day is the one day that we are supposed to be recognized and thanked for paying all those bills and taking us to ball games and such but the women just can't stand it that they aren't one upping everyone. Pissed me off.

My girls boy just graduated from Drexel as a Biomedical engineer. They had all the engineers at the graduation. Chemical, Bio, Electrical etc., 45 percent were woman. I keep telling ya FDC it is coming faster then expected. Start treating them a little bit nicer before the Tsunami hits.

Same thing happened in my profession. Then they get knocked up never to return I the workforce. Great use of that education.

im not talking about 1992.

Sponge,
I know what you meant brother and to be honest I applaud that the women are getting out in the work force and starting to earn competitive wages.

My point is that it seems that women, more so than men, are consistently looking for more and more validation for the same tasks that everybody performs on a daily basis.

It is the whole "Hey what about me, throw some more accolades my way on Father's Day because I am so special" shit that drives me nuts.

No Mom is more special than a Dad when both of them take care of their business. To come out on FATHER's DAY and say congrats to me and all single Mom's is straight up self serving bullshit, takes away from the ONE damn day Dad's get, and I am sick of this "praise me" bullshit. Shut up, it was her knees at a 45 degree angle that created the kid, it was your decision to do it!!! She is no hero just because she takes care of her fucking kid. The shit has gone too far. We spend more on personal accolades for mediocrity it is ridiculous. In times gone by 16 year olds raised families and held together a home without a fucking teddy bear every Tuesday because they brushed their kid's hair!!

Yea, it pisses me off.

Hope that helps,
FDC
