How much have you spent on alcohol recently?

Vanished into vortex
I never really liked Christmas much, but in the past 7-8 years I have learned to enjoy it more and more. I save money literally all year so I can spend like a drunk sailor and not have to use a credit card.

I hate credit card debt with a passion.

I still have probably two gifts to buy tomorrow and I just asked my wife how much we had left of the cash stash and she said none and that we were already a couple hundred into a credit card.

Fuck.

I was sure we couldn't have went through all the Christmas money already so I started adding up money spent on gifts, food to entertain with and booze.

Son of a bitch if I wasn't surprised on how much went to alcohol. Between gifts (because nothing says Merry Christmas like a bottle of Crown), three or four bottles for the house for when guests arrive, wine (chicks like it) and a couple different cases of beer since nobody can agree on one kind it turns out we went through over $300 in just alcohol.

I can't believe that. I may have to call AA tomorrow.:scared

Can't imagine not using a cash back card of some sort, unless by having a credit card people may charge more than they can afford.

Amex has a 6% back on groceries, 3% on gas and 1% on all else. We put everything on it and pay it in full. Every december it makes for great Christmas money. Another alternative is the capital one cash back card. If you pay in full every month it's crazy to leave free money on the table IMO.

Spent about $100 yesterday just restocking for the holidays. I try to keep a little something around to satisfy a wide variety of tastes. Everything from Crown to Bailey's to a little white zin on hand.

Costco trip Friday (holiday liquor sale):

1x 1.75 Crown $27
1x 1.75 Absolute $20
6x 0.75 JW Gold Label $55ea. (practically like stealing)
1x 1.75 Bombay Saphire $24
1x 1.75 Kahlua $33

That should take care of friends and family through the holidays and beyond... and all that Johnnie will last me for the year :0074
