How much should she charge for this?

If she is anything like my wife, she will never ask what they are worth because she is to nice. I get beyond pissed when people take advantage of my wife's niceness, the whole while she is just happy to "help people out":facepalm: Somehow I wind up being the bad guy for pointing out how much more her work is worth:shrug:

I would be having the disagreement with you 2 guys too. I don't know what the materials cost but she probably has 8 hours in that thing.
That's the range I am thinking.
I have researched too and those people are selling at a very reasonable price, most places charge a lot more.
Yeah, you can eat the whole thing.
The last cake like this she charged $50 and I convinced her to up the price and she sold this one for $100 but I'm thinking upper 100's.
She make a lot of cheesecakes for people and only charges $20 but that's what the ingredients cost her. :facepalm:

We have a huge disagreement about how much she should charge for these things.
Most recently she made this cake for a baby shower. How much should she have charged?
I have to show the unfinished pic so you can see what it is. The finished cake has a blanket on it's ass. The whole thing is edible.
I think people with good hearts always undervalue their work. They feel as if they are "taking" from others if they ask "too much". These are often the same people who overpay/overtip, because of that same good heart.
I have no idea what your wife should get paid for her works of art, but she should value her time, and not let people take advantage of that. By the looks of what I see, the baby cake isn't something you can grab off the shelf some place, so you need to pay accordingly. As far as the others go, market demand, I guess.

The problem is, she made most cakes for friends and family and charged ingredients only. No problem. But, now she's getting shitpiles of referrals and making them for people she doesn't even know charging the same.
She says they won't pay as much as I suggest. Then big deal, don't make it. At least get paid for your time too and that's not minimum wage either, it's a lot more than that because not many people can make these things. I think she should undercut the bakery by about 30% because she doesn't have that overhead, so $150 to $175 for that baby ass cake.
You can buy a cheesecake at Walmart for $15, so let them buy the damn thing at Walmart then. Otherwise, if they want the best cheesecake they ever had, $40-$50.
Make a few bucks.

She has to figure out what she wants to make on these. Start at what it cost her to make and go from there. I would base the cost more on her time than I would the actual cost of ingredients. I'm not sure if I missed it but I'm assuming this is something on the side and just for fun? Sometimes even when you're doing that you have to look at the future. Does she(if she's not) want to do it full time in the future? If so then she needs to base it on what she wants to make overall. IMO it's always better to charge more and have less orders than to not charge much and have tons of orders.
Jack does your wife make these cakes because she enjoys it and it's a challenge of is she trying to make money and turn this into a business? I've seen many times a person enjoys doing a craft and friends/family spread the word and that person gets overwhelmed with the work & charging the appropriate amount and it's no longer fun anymore.......Nice looking cakes though.....:0008

I just paid $98.50 for a square cake for our gender reveal party yesterday. The fondant bow alone was $35 on the cake. Nice cake and all, and I will post a picture later, but the one you are showing is at least double in price IMO.

Nothing wrong with doing it for cost for family and close friends if she chooses to do so, everybody else can pay up or go somewhere else. I'd pay $40 easy for one of those massive cheesecakes. :0008
