U S Foreign Aid to those that hate us* :

Egypt , for example, after voting* 79%* of the time against the United States, still receives* $2 billion annually* in US Foreign Aid.

Jordan* votes* 71%* against the United States
And receives* $192,814,000 annually* in US Foreign Aid.

I do not think the United Nations should be abolished. Fixed, yes. But if you were to abolish it what would you replace it with?

Any one ever entertain the idea that the United States might be wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what, collectively, do these countries who vote against us do for the world??

how many of them are sending food and health care all over the world??

how many of them are developing new innovations to raise the standard of living across the globe??

i don't see any comparison

they should be on our side far more often than not if these countries' administrations deem any credibility whatsoever

I would agree that in the current state of affairs, the US should examine all of our contributions worldwide and take note of these kinds of things. There is a lot to be said for putting some pressure on these countries to work with us in some situations, as we are helping them financially. Would be interesting to see what the amounts of aid we send to each country, what the money goes for, etc.

Money goes for what ever they want to use it for.
I wonder if some helps train terrorist.
Anyone see how many times our real friends vote with us. China, where all our jobs are going. Russia, are old buddies. Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela where we get 30% of our oil from.
Even Britts are not 100%. Why do so many think were wrong so much?

The U.N. is a necessary evil. Obviously it's foolish to think that we should formulate our entire foreign policy around the whim of the U.N., but in the end getting U.N. backing does help add legitimacy and erode some anti-American sentiment when tough actions have to be taken.

As far as foreign contributions go, that's how you fight the Islamic jihadists. This enemy can't be defeated through traditional means. Helping countries in the hope that they will allow us to infiltrate Islamic jihadist groups and perhaps even go after the jihadists themselves is essential.

I would also be interested to see what the money is used for in these countries - I doubt, as djv says, that it is used for whatever they want. And last I checked, the U.S. was still claiming to be a democracy, so people here and around the world can vote for whatever they want, and should not be punished monetarily or otherwise if they disagree with a U.S. policy, as long as it does not directly threaten us. Finally, I wonder if those who vote in the U.N. are really representing what the common people of these countries want, as many times, especially in poorer countries, politics are quite corrupt.

U S Foreign Aid to those that hate us* :

Do you feel that I hate you simply because I disagree with you on political issues more than 50% of the time.

Since when does disagreement = hate?

That said - yeah, it's ridiculous what we give to governments that have plenty. In the case of the ME and India, it's ENTIRELY for corporate interests.

"the bunker"
to get a feel for just how absurd anan and the u.n. are....just how anti-western.....anan just visited iran and syria....and got "promises" from ahmadinnerjacket and assad to "support the israeli/hezbollah" truce....

of course these are the two countries most responsible for creating and sustaining hezbollah...and from what i`ve read, iran may have precipitated the kidnapping and murder of israeli soldiers to deflect attention from iran`s manhattan project....this is obviously an attempt to end israel`s blockade...

and if that wasn`t enough, syria promised to patrol the israeli border.....to stop any arms smuggling....

from themselves...

bizarre....obviously,somebody`s been slipping ganja into his taco salad......for years...

No, al I know that we are friends even though we disagree on some politrical issues. That's my point. The email that you pasted assumed that anyone who votes contrary to the US automatically HATES the US. ....A point that I find ridiculous. Every country, just like every individual, has their own agendas and interests - it doesn't mean they hate each other.

because we have good kind hearted people who don't understand our politicians are corrupt. Other nations know this but we don't and we live here. This is why when Bush won the Daily Mirror in England had a front page article on how dumb a country we are. Then i will have to answer some nitwit who will tell me that i should leave the country because i don't like it. He has no idea it may be the politicians i don't like and not the country. But this is what Rove sends out to the pigeons and they feed on it because they are incapable of having their own thoughts.

I will tell u why they vote against us

I will tell u why they vote against us

If the United States would guarantee the same right of existence to a free Palestine as it does to Israel there would be no Middle East Conflict. The fact that Israel operates untethered with our money and occupies the West Bank and Gaza as we do Iraq is the cause
of the voting record the conflict and the terror.

If ya wanna hear another one to scare u...a retired Pakistani general said Israel should be nuked by the only Islamic nuclear power to restore honor to the Muslim world. Better pray the masses that Musharraf is holding at bay don't ever overthrow him.
