With maternity package included, we pay $612 per month with $5000 MAX out of pocket.
So total absolute max for our healthcare spend (including advil, prescriptions, doctor, hospital, etc) is $12,344. That's EVERYTHING.
I have one and agree with the others about the tax savings part. For many it is hard to swallow the high deductible part, but when you look at the plan in entirety it is a very logical choice. Will be shame if they do away with these type of plans/accounts moving forward.
Jinx - are you sure you aren't talking about a FSA? In an HSA the $ is yours no matter what. If someone took away your $ at the end of the year, you were robbed.

Our company actually matches employee contributions and sometimes makes discretionary contributions to employee HSA accounts. We have made a conscience effort to steer employees to this type of plan. In the long run it has helped keep the insurance costs for employees and the company down.
I'm looking into offering it for my employees. I'd love to be able to provide some help with insurance but it's so damn expensive for a small business.
