Longview - 34
John Tyler 56

2 units on the Over 56LOSS
2 units on Longview -34WIN

Two rival Texas teams play on the National Stage tonight and I was bored so started looking at things a little closer. Here's the thing, Lobos are on a 18 game win streak and have won the State 6A D2 Texas Championship in 2018. If there is one player to watch this afternoon, it's the HC John Kings kid QB Haynes King who is headed to Texas A&M and has accounted for 4,500 Total yards of Off w/50 TDs. Only 4 Off Starters return to the Lobos and 4 Def Starters too. Although it would appear that the cupboard is a tad bare, I think you will see a reload of talent tonight and after Lobos manhandled rival Marshall last week (53-0) I expect more of the same in this game.

John Tyler has started 0-2 which is a bit of a surprise since the Lions return 5 Off Starters and 8 Def Starters from a 10-3 program, so what the hell is going on? Lions have some D1 talent and Sr Kitan Crawford (Texas commit) is going to have to be accounted for but the Def is struggling and has given up avr 36.5 yards pg....... There is definitely some talent here but seems to be a disconnect between players and coaches and while I think they can hang for a while, I look for Longview to put up a fairly big number.

Last week, Lobos beat Marshall 53-0 but what isn't mentioned is that Lobos only had 1 Offensive series in the first quarter, because Marshall game plan was to milk the play clock down to the 1 sec snap........ It worked by keeping the lethal offense off the field but despite scoring 0 points in the 1st quarter, Lobos got back into the act by special teams and posted 53 points in final 3 quarters....... Unless John Tyler implements the same game plan and mentality in National TV, I think this one gets out of hand, and perhaps Lobos cover the total by themselves.......... Gl

I am thinking similarly... My biggest concern was Longview looking ahead to West Monroe but once I realized this is the 99th time these two have played it made me go... Not likely to have look ahead.

If you read the article I posted coach for JT seems to be in a tough spot. JT make a ton of mistakes, special team goofs and just playing like shit.

I like the Fave but the total makes me anxious unless you get 50 from Longview. East Texas football at its best.

Hi Riff- Hope all is well.

Hi Riff- Hope all is well.

Good to see you Musca...... Yes, just read your post.... I think the strongest play was the Over because of obvious backdoor possibilities.

I was wondering where you were.... Need some FCS help.... Hope you had a great off-season

So what is the line on the big one?

Always like defense over offense so I like St. Francis in this one, but I have no clue what the line is, but I am assuming Mater Dei is favored.

Looking forward to your take on this one.

Right now everything is about the Dogs. Trying to expand in the right direction. Trying to make plans. FCS has a been a great start! Some really impressive teams and some disappointing teams. You know how that is. Trying to stay away from the FBS best I can. COuld not stay away from here... Hawk, you, BG and the others.. A lot of fun for football season. I see the trolls are still out but c'est la vie.

This kid for Longview seems to be overwhelmed by the moment. Missed 2 wide open TD's and then a pick in the endzone.

Ciao

Unfortunately, thus far I haven't seen a line..... Weird..... Some interesting match-ups though, taking a hard look at IMG vs St Josephs Prep...... I'm trying to get some inside info on the DeLaSalle vs Folsom game which I will probably be attending tomorrow night

You will not see me bash high schoolers very often... Very different than the college or pro kids but but but

Boy that kid tonight sure as hell did not look like the top QB in the country. 8-18 with 3 picks. He underthrew multiple wide open kids that should have been TD's. Riff you should have had that over EASY EASY EASY. 1 TD called back, 1 INT in the EZ, 2 missed throws that would have resulted in TD's... Game really should have finished 63 -0 AT LEAST. I did not see the arm strength... I really believe the lights were too bright tonight for this kid. I hate it because I am a Jimbo Fisher fan but not an Aggie fan (weird I know).

Got the side and chalk that total one up to a shitty loss.

Good night

I defer to you all for California. Just not enough information gets to me about ball out there.

I do have one that I like a lot tonight.

Hewitt-Trussville +7-120 and Over 73.5; Hoover's starting QB was hurt late in the game while up 27. They went on to lose that game. Well, guess what Hoover's QB1 is out tonight also. THis line is off. Hewitt's stud RB Goodwin is ??? and most likely out but Hewitt has a stable of backs. This is going to be a high scoring game. LY's game was very high scoring with Hewitt winning. The winner of this game has scored at least 38 points in each of the last 5 years. So, high scoring shootout but expect Hewitt to really control the game with their ground game. I will not be surprised to see 50+ scored by HT.
+7-120 for limit
Over 73.5 for 7*

I do not know a ton about the teams but I bought Pomona +27 as well. For just a bit.

Seems like too many too me.

There is, IMHO, value on a couple of the high school games but I just do not want to stretch myself tonight.
Mallard Under 48
Valdosta Over 59 (This is contingent on Colquitt doing most of the work... WE should see 45-19 or there abouts

That Mallard game is going to be a slobberknocker. Gaffney is no slouch at home playing the top team out of NC. This really could end 17-16 or so... Stoked for this one.

Riff must be working hard today :) We will just populate his thread until he gets back:)

IMG -13
St Josephs Prep 50'

2 units on the Under 50'LOSS

Kinda like Hawks to possibly win this outright but the number here is too high imo....... IMG Football Factory has dismantled a suspect Venice school 46-7 and beat the #4 Florida High School Northwestern, and I think this game has potential to be a defensive struggle. St Josephs has the better QB and skill players but the strength of the Ascenders is their talented DBs, and McCord will struggle to get a lot of open passes down field........ Love the Under

Line is Mater Dei -4 total 55.5..... anything you like ?

That's pretty close to what I had it capped at..... I lean to the Under in this one and would be tempted to bet St Frances because that team is talented but Monarchs Rollinson has the studs to win this game and I think Bryce Young is pretty special talent. Should be a great good one.

Valor Christian -28
Pomona 50

3 units on Pomona +28WIN

Oh lordy, lordy, what have the High School Football Gods offered us on a platter? POMONA getting 28 points here is frankly ridiculous. I realize the mystique of the Valor program is well deserved but as Hawk has mentioned, Ed McCaffrey has no kids left in the program and Eagles are not going to go undefeated again after dropping a 27-17 decision to Cedar Grove (Georgia State Power) and the reality of the situation is that this line is a misconception of the State Champions Valors dominant run but Pomona won't be stayed as the Panthers may have the best Defense in the State. Yes, they lost to Regis Jesuit in week 1 but won't you won't see much is that Regis Soph QB Nicco Marchiol is one of the best in the nation and that Panthers despite losing, had the lead with 3 minutes left in the game but a couple of hail Mary type plays caused a fluky loss....... Pomona beat Bear Creek 49-6 last week but you should know that Pomona had already posted the big number in the first half, and the 2nd half was the result of a running clock.

Grab the points boys, don't forget Valor went undefeated last year and won their Div State Championship but the Panthers only lost to the Eagles 14-6.........yes sir.
