I dont know much about growing the stuff, but unless u have some personal power genertation, you will always get busted.
Here in Ca, they keep tabs on high energy pulls on grids, u know to run the growth lamps all day and night. they take alot of power to run, hence why the powere companies report high power surges and irregular usages. but who knows maybe he had that worked out.

Greedy greedy - when you're making 6-8 mil a year, why not buy some generators? Otherwise seemed like a stealth money-making operation...
