"That's crazy," Cuban said of Van Gundy's charge. "It's also an insult to officials. They don't officiate individual players differently. Did he notice that Damp (Erick Dampier) has gotten two quick fouls in every game and has been limited by foul trouble? Has he ever looked at Shawn Bradley's fouls per minute? They both seem to have the same type of fouls called on them.

"I will tell you what we did do, and I can tell you it has had zero impact on the officiating of the games. We sent in a list of what we thought could be moving screens on Yao and Dikembe from a game in the series. We wanted clarification from the league if our assessment of what was going on was correct. The league came back and told us of the 28 that we turned in from this game, nine were actually moving screens and should have been called but were not.

"We have the same type of examples from every game in the series. So if anything, he has it completely backward."

Please point "idiot" me to Van Gundy's reference of "fixed" games like you originally stated, "pure and simple" like.

He wasn't punished very hard, as I remember, he was just made to appologize, since it was obvious the league just wanted as little mention of the story as possible.

Well maybe i have an answer for your record since you are so convinced nobody has an answer. Back years ago the skim Master's got caught red handed fixing the lottery here in Pa. They were doing something with the ping pong balls. I haven't played it since. I have no talent to figure out what the heck balls they are doing this with so there is no need for me to try. In sports i do have the talent to figure out a higher percentage of games that i feel they want to go the books way. So i bet it. And i will always think these leagues fix games and i will always bet it. If they ever stopped fixing these games i would be able to pick 99 percent of them. Just like i can with high school sports because the fix doesn't come into play because there are no lines or gambling on the games. There is your answer on why some of us still bet it.

Wait a minute here Sponge...there are no lines on high school games?? I have a card and I saved it. It is from the 70's and there is a line on it along with pro and college football. This is small town we're talking about here and they're gambling on the outcome!!

I think they should both be required to post the funds @ week 9 or so- that way your money would only be stagnant for 2 months. That's one reason I hate playing offshore and one reason I used to love taking futures action or season win totals...."Oh you want to bet $3k on Over 97 wins on NYY? No problem... Okay, Sponge, okay.

So, some rube from Hickabilly, PA has "the knack" for sniffing out fixed games, (You know....the ones "the league needs the bookies to win"?) yet no discernible line/money moves occur on said games?

Don't kill the golden goose, whatever you do!


With all this going for you, you still find the time to get into a season long contest for a lousy two grand with a guy whom you've never met, to see who has the biggest pecker?

I'm surprised you have time to eat lunch.
