I never would welcome an intruder invasion, and I would be scared, but I know how to use a gun, and I own more than one as well.

I was watching a show on Cops and they apprehended a guy who had done 20 home invasions.

They asked him how he picked the houses to do the home invasions.


He said they just go to the richer neighborhoods at random.


I always thought they had a purpose, like a store owner with money at home or something.
Seems no.

That's why I have is a shotgun, I live in the Sticks, If there is a home invasion it could take awhile for the county Mounties to get here. My dogs are my first line of defense, they alert me to a person first, they are useless after that as they would be trying to get pet by any attacker, I choose the shotgun cause I'm not practicing with a pistol

I've never owned a gun and in fact have only shot one once in my life. My father always had one that he kept in his bed side table but I never once messed with it. With the changing world we live in my wife and I have talked about purchasing a gun. I doubt I would ever have a use for it in my lifetime but I you never know. We talked about where we would put it and other things. If you're going to have one then it better be accessible if you have an emergency or else I can't see the point. But I have two kids and keeping it away from them is equally important. I like the idea of having it beside my bed in a small safe that has a fingerprint scanner to open it. That way if I'm out of it at night I could still manage to just put my finger on the scanner.

In the end we probably won't end up getting one because I trust my 95lb boxer and myself could do an adequate job if anyone was ever to make their way into our house.
