BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (Sept. 24, 2015) ? A traffic stop in Bartholomew County landed a man in jail after he told police he?d ?just gotten off of the space shuttle.?

Just after 9 a.m. Wednesday, a sheriff?s deputy saw a vehicle pulled off on the side of the road at County Road 550 West and County Road 250 South.
The deputy saw a clear baggie containing white powder and drug paraphernalia. The deputy said the driver, identified as Kenneth Engleking, 40, Seymour, reached under his seat. Fearing Engleking was reaching for a weapon, the deputy ordered him to put his hands up. Engleking complied.
Under the seat, the deputy found drug paraphernalia. Engleking had a semi-automatic pistol and a small bag of marijuana in the door. During the incident, Engleking told officers he?d ?just gotten off of the space shuttle,? according to Sheriff Matt Myers.
The deputy said Engleking appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for a checkup before being taken to jail on a preliminary charge of cocaine possession.
Police also found a second gun in the car along with a Schedule IV controlled substance.
Engleking was released on bond from the Bartholomew County Jail.
