Shit, I just typed a response and deleted it.
I have had more experience with the police than your average Joe. Years back I used more than 2 dozen for security in an urban retail setting. Seven of them became lifelong friends. We also have three cops that play golf with us in two 4somes at times. I did the ride along thing twice and I can tell you that I found just about every one of them to be intelligent, compassionate and being only as stern or forceful as the situation called for. Sure, you can say that they were on their best behavior because they were in public or being observed and I can not argue that even though I believe that to be not true. You have to remember that these guys go to work every day in a most stressful envrionment and not knowing if this is the day that their life will be on the line.
I guess that our experiences differ but I just feel strongly that all members of any particular group can be labeled as bad people. Sure, there are a few but not the majority. I know that I'll never convince you otherwise nor you me. I suppose that we will just agree to disagree and life goes on.
