My pet peeve.....

When motherfuckers eat a hamburger or any sandwich with the wrapper half on. Shit crinkles with every bite and movement too. Hate it.

The last couple weeks, on the way to work, I have been stopping at Dunkin Donuts and getting a Mutigrain Bagel toasted with butter and a large black coffee.

I have been served by at least 6 different cashiers.

Me: MultiGrain (multee) bagel, toasted with butter and a large black coffee.

Cashier: that's a Multie grain bagel toasted with butter and a large black coffee?

Every time.

Finally, today, I said "no, mulTEE grain.

Why does shit like that bother me :shrug:

Yeah, a lot of people have that one. I'm bad enough on my own and don't usually follow along with anybody regularly so don't know the score on those things. I've tried to track certain posters and it's impossible. I gave up.

It's pronounced MulTIE when the following word is hyphenated and multEE when it isnt. In this instance you are correct, however most Multi-Vitamins are hyphenated, multEE is incorrect in that instance. The hyphen is the general rule.
