This still happens when I try to change the User Title:

I don't know what that is talking about. Title has a max of 15 characters including spaces.

Yes, I'm aware. ....What happens if you try to change your user title?

Smurph

I think it is because you are using symbols
()+-

like trying to type three ??? error

What won't it let you post

Read the directions, dude. At the very top you have to answer a question and if you answer it correctly your changes will be saved after you submit them.

I've tried only typing in "user" and also resetting it but get same message. Maybe it stumbles because the existing title has + symbol. Maybe it can't get around that no matter what I try to change it to.

Not for me - I answered the question but get an error when I put
(/That Guy)
in it

Here's the error

Smurph - at the very top you have to answer a simple question like
In ABCD - what letter comes first

Then it will update

This is hard to quantify so take it fwiw. I can't put my finger on it, but the only way I can explain it is that with the new layout I don't want to spend as much time reading the forum. This applies to the general forum or the capping forums. I don't know if it's because names/threads don't stand out as much as they used to or what. I just know that I lose interest very quickly.

I'm sure you have a way to look at visits per day, threads clicked per visit- time spent on the site per visit for comparison to pre-change.

I frequent other forums and have never had this reaction to other changes- including those done here in the past. I'm just hoping it takes more time, and I know I'm insignificant to you Jack in the big picture but I have a feeling it may be true on a larger scale.

In addition to saint being disgruntled, I don't think I have seen the #1 'it aint like it use to be guy', DTB, since the changes.

Traffic is not down but post count is by a little but that's to be expected. It's new, it's awkward, it's unfamiliar. I am very confident that you will like it better once you get used to it. I didn't like it and was very uncomfortable at first but I sincerely like it better. It probably took me about 5 days to get accustomed and comfortable but 5 days for me is around 90 hours. Once you have about 90 hours logged in I think you'll like it just fine. There's no going back so I hope that's the case. There will be more features coming too that you will like that the other software didn't have. I'm certainly not done tweaking this thing either. :0008

I never said that you were the only one. And I never said there was something wrong with your opinion. I stated that you were disgruntled, which is what I inferred from your post. I guess if that makes me a douchebag, so be it.

Or perhaps the new format is really bad and has you so tart and ready to fly off the handle.

I'll re-post my earlier comment from the "A lot of work to do" thread:

I was able to go to the golf forum and still find all the posts going back to 2000, so that's good.

But when I tried to "View Forum Posts" for several users, the message was "sorry, no matches", so that's bad. I hope that is just a temporary problem, and our searches of user posts going forward will not be limited to posts made since this new format came on line.

A lot of work to do. Carry on.

GL

So, as of today the "View Forum Posts" feature for any user will still only take me back to the arrival of the new format on 10/16/13, and in a similar vein, I'm assuming if I did a search of posts for fletcher or Cow or BTJ, my search results would only go back to that date as well. Does the agenda of ongoing projects include restoring those search capabilities back through the whole archive of posts going back to 2000????

Thanks.

GL
