This is further proof that there is no pleasing Gardenweasel. You would think he would be in favor of something that teaches work ethic and encourages pride with kids. ...Just no pleasing him.

Under a mask.
Hes given a student a chance to put 4,000.00towards THEIR own education ,basiclly for a serive,100hrs.How is that so bad?

2.5 weeks for 4000.00 tax refundable.
Not bad IMO.

Great thread and I have a few responses to some of the questions posed:

a. I have no problem with community service and we would be a better society if we collectively did not consider it to be a burden.
b. GW, yes the ?official shirts? will indeed be brown and your concern about the dress code is duly noted.
c. Morris, yes we will all get t-shirts. However they will all be brown.
d. IO, if there is a ?Pussy Poly? forum at MadJack?s why is my access blocked?
e. Jack, I also do not have a shirt.
f. Jack, a light bulb? Surely you can?t be serious!
g. Smurphy, you need to get more sleep. Seriously.
h. Scott, nobody said that 50 was easy but ?ripping a hamstring?? Clearly you have the calves of a 65 year old man.
i. Jack, sorry to hear about your "lower back muscle? but how this has affected your bowel movement tendencies is really none of our business.
j. Smurphy, we get it. You don?t like Republicans. Can you let it go for a week or three?
k. Weasie, Mars ain?t far enough away for you, Toto.
l. GW, your godson?s service to the church may or may not be counted toward his volunteerism. Regardless, your ?clever? attempt to pat your own back with the ?TM ? graphic has been duly noted.
m. Matt, you also ?crack yourself up? from time to time.
n. Spongy, you seriously pulled the same ?muscle?? Thank God it was not your appendix bursting! We appreciate your efforts in ?fighting back?.
o. Weasie, if it will help you feel better, I believe in putting criminals to work.
p. GW, yes all those that choose not to volunteer will be jailed or even worse.
q. Scott, I hope you?re right. We could certainly use some ?change?

good points judge....

and i`m thrilled that we`ll probably get even more autobiographies...

he`s penned two, even before he`s really accomplished anything great...i wonder how many more are in the works now that he's actually done something?....

i'm thinking maybe one a year for the next four years?....

I think this is hilarious. The guys who are all for this would be up in arms if it included adults and they had to get their fat assess off of the couch.

So what about those college students working full time to pay for school while handling a full course-load? 8 hours a month is more than you think

Wouldnt teenagers ,instead of sleeping in to 12 oclock have more time to do C.C.Most adults,I say most cause the other percentage who are feeding off the system and should volenteer there time, dont have the time. There to busy, with work, kids, etc.

I hear people against this idea, fearing its gonna be forced down everybodys throats.Even a radio show in this area made it a topic against it.
Everybody relax. There not gonna call the SS if you dont participate.Really here.
