If i have to wait in the bushes for three weeks than they can have the shit.

I didn't wait in the bushes all night. I would take a walk 2 or 3 times a night and check for kids in the neighborhood. One night I heard them down the street and I hid in the bushes until they came to my yard. They went for my truck and that's when I tackled the kid and gave him a beating. Meanwhile my wife called the cops.
I now have piece of mind. When someone violates you it gets under your skin. So fuckoff to all the comics out there.

You know I didn't even join the discussion before, but I will now. How can you not say its welfare? Why do you think the military is the last option for fuckups? They get a job, housing and food. Now i'm not saying everyone who joins is a fuck up. However, there are a lot of morons who realize its their last shot. I have a friend of a friend who has been in there and he has been promoted a few times. This guy is a complete moron. He can't spell he can't do math. No common sense either. No critical thinking. I mean Hedgy could probably run circles around this guy. And he has been promoted a few times.

I know some of you are going to get all pissy, but it is a form of welfare. No doubt about it. That doesn't mean they aren't making a huge sacrifice. That doesn't mean I don't respect most of them for willing to sacrifice their lifes. However, for some of them its their last chance. I think people are idiots for joining these days, but if thats what they want to do thats their choice.

--and ya all thought I was making it up.

We got those comparing those enlisting with 2 wars going on--to the welfare whores

Criminals aren't responsible for their actions--its the victims fault

Thats what we refer to as liberal logic down in the pits-- :)

--and now I'm trying to decide--is it better to let car unlocked so they don't cut themselves breaking the glass ------

You better hope you never need help.

Continue playing your games, DTB. Sorry to distract you from the issue.

I know it wasn't -but I will check on that--I know laws are very stringent to protect children--if you have swimming pool and electric fence around it--and they manage to get in and drown--your gulity.

I'm not sure if that is correct when they are in act of committing crime--but worth investigating.
Maybe a legal beagle could tune us in.

YYZ--I'm layin 2/1 your a government employee--right or wrong?

The laws may vary from state to state, but I can say with near certainty that this is not true in the state of Washington. A family friend of mine had this happen to them (not the exact same scenario you spelled out, but almost) and they were not held liable at all.

Again, there you are yammering about the criminals not being at fault.

Here's a simple idea:

Try removing the weapons from your car when you're not attending to it. Unless you live in your car......there is no reason to have one stashed in there, and you can't give anyone a reason, either.

Again, I will say that the criminal is 100% in the wrong for taking you shit. Yet, you are a smart enough individual to know that the likelyhood of your car getting broken into is far greater than your house, and they have a much smaller area to search to find the goodies.

Me? I'd rather leave my gun in the house and have it still be there every night, than leave it in the car, have it stolen again, but be safe in the knowledge that the criminal was "wrong", and I was "right".

I am actually amazed at people trying to defend themselves for leaving a loaded weapon in their car. You want to be able to protect yourselves from drug scumbags that may rob you for $10? Or want to protect your family.

A. By leaving a loaded gun in the car YOU give the drug dealer or other criminals easy access to a weapon. A fucking car alarm is not going to help you. Break in and out in less than a minute.. You are not going to be able to jump out of bed in time to catch em.

B. If you are in your house your loaded weapon in the car does you no good. I suppose you have more guns in the house though.

C. If a $10 drug stealing thief wants to take your life bad enough they are going to do it before you can get that gun out of your glove box.

I really think it would be common sense not to leave a loaded gun in a car where someone can easily steal it like a THIEF.. I have a few guns and they are in the house, I don't think they would do me any good in my Car.

Tort Law: Selling gas to a presumed intoxicated person

Tort Law: Selling gas to a presumed intoxicated person

This isn't the example but nonetheless, took two seconds to find and shows how far an individual is responsible even when they are doing their job...

Interesting read:

Selling Gas to a Drunk

Posted on August 30, 2005 by John Day

There has been a lot of talk about the decision of the Tennessee Supreme Court in the case of West v. East Tennessee Pioneer Oil Co.; even the Tennessesan has weighed in with an editorial.
The Court held that convenience store employees owe a duty of reasonable care to persons on the roadways when the employees sell gasoline to an obviously intoxicated person and / or assist the driver in pummping gas into his vehicle.
An employee of a c-store refused to sell Tarver beer because he was too intoxicated. Then, some level of physical assistance was given to Tarver to purchase $3.00 worth of gasoline for his vehicle. Tarver left the seen, drove 2.8 miles, and hit the plaintiffs' vehicle head on, causing both plaintiffs' serious injuries.
Plaintiff's expert testified that, without the $3.00 worth of fuel purchased at the defendant's store, Tarver's vehicle would have run out of gas before coming into contact with the Plaintiffs.
The Tennessee Supreme Court held that there is a jury issue on the issue of negligence and negligent entrustment. Drunk drivers kill and injure, and the Court held that if the clerk knew (or reasonably should have known) the driver was intoxicated a jury could hold the defendant liable.
This decision makes perfect sense to me. We live in a world with other people. We know the harm that drunk drivers can cause? Why in heaven's name would you sell gas to someone who was too intoxicated to buy beer?
This fact situation is a once-in-a-million year occurrence. The odds of cause in fact being present are less. But that does not make this opinion wrong. Indeed, it shows the beauty of the flexability of the common law.

That example is skewed... Not a good example seeing as it involves physical assisting a drunk individual.

This one is better and relates to the topic at hand.

http://heinonline.org/HOL/LandingPa...s&handle=hein.journals/stanlp8&div=9&id=&page=

I'll find the one about the guy burned by gasonline and sued claiming it was unsecurely stored and the result was his injury.

It is amazing or amazes me the stupidity of some people (those injured) and their ability to accuse those that through minor irresponsibility come out even worse...

It's like watching train wrecks... :scared

Man stakes out and attacks Cabbagetown [Atlanta] graffiti artists
Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | 07/03/08 | TIM EBERLY

Cabbagetown has had an ongoing problem with graffiti. Early Sunday morning, resident Rodney Bowman took the matter into his own hands.

Bowman perched himself in a tree to catch vandals who had been spray-painting a concrete wall that runs along a set of railroad tracks and borders his neighborhood.

Around 2:20 a.m., they showed up.

Two young men, Joshua Ward, 19 and Jesse Jaeger, 21, started spray-painting the wall when Bowman sprang from the tree and attacked Ward, according to an Atlanta police report.

"It took me a few seconds to realize what was going on," Jaeger said Wednesday. "This guy just jumps out of a tree. I was like, 'Did that just happen?' We're still telling people about it. It's one of those things that, when you tell people, they don't believe you."

Bowman, 43, walked over to Ward and punched him in the face twice before the young men ran away and called police, the report said.

When an officer arrived, Bowman told him that "he had been watching the area closely" and "jumped out of the tree" to confront the vandals, the report said.

Ward and Jaeger admitted to police that they came to the concrete wall to spray paint, but they said they thought it was legal, the report said.

Jaeger said he and Ward were under the impression the wall -- just a few blocks from the Krog Street tunnel's famed concrete canvas -- was a "free space" where graffiti is allowed.

Jaeger said that, as they starting putting graffiti on the wall, Bowman sprang from the tree that was about 20 feet from them, fell down and walked toward Ward.

"I told you about fucking with our wall!" Bowman said, according to the report.

An officer gave Bowman a ticket for disorderly conduct, and Ward and Jaeger were ticketed for defacing a building, the report said.

In front of police officers, Bowman asked the young men what they were doing out there so late at night, Jaeger said.

"You were in a tree at 2:30 in the morning," they replied, according to Jaeger.

C. Not in glove compartment. In my side door in a holster I can slip out in a matter of a couple of seconds.
I hope I never have to use it but if I do its there in my locked vehicle in my driveway on my property. I will get a better alarm. I do value some of your opinions and will consider other options as I am not closed minded like some of you who only see one side of anything.
Thanks

just a side note

write all your serial numbers from your guns down and keep it in a safe place.

If you have a gun stolen and dont have that the cops are going to give you a hard time.

And who wants a criminal running around with your gun in your name to shoot someone and leave the gun at the scene .

it gets kinda scary :scared

I always take my guns into the house with me.

This is DTB things are trying to be explained to. Are u really this surprised? I stopped reasoning with this backwards numnuts ten month before the political threads were even locked up. Obama was in office three minutes and DTB found out all the sudden he was concerned with spending. Eight years before that i asked him about all the spending going on and he either had me on ignore out or he missed my post :mj07:

I guess if that gives you piece of mine than so be it.. I live in the sticks and have two dogs who know exactly when someone is around.. My 12 gauge isn't too far a way if need be.. I just think a thief who breaks into cars doesn't really want a gun but would maybe sell the gun to someone who does.. That person will then own a gun that doesn't trace back to him.

Most thugs who enter cars? Actually, no.......they don't have guns. But, since they are looking in your car for stuff to sell, guess what?

I guess the thing I am trying to drive home, and it seems to get met with resistance from you two: Why leave the gun in your car?

PLEASE give us a logical answer for that, when you can carry it to and fro, just like you would the keys!
