What if Mark Hamil reprised his role as Luke Skywalker?
Even Harrison Ford as Solo.
Would be pretty badass. I think.

no problem with that, would be awesome if it works...
i hope disney takes SW to more like latest Batmans/darker direction than "Batman & Robin" direction.
I think it would be cheesy and a terrible idea and therefore something Disney would probably consider. They are 61 and 70 respectively. And you are going to have them reprise roles they played 30 years ago? A 50-year old actor could pull off playing a character that is suppose to be in their 40's, not a 60--year old going a 40's character.
Now if you want to give them a cameo as some other role, perhaps. But with such things you are always walking a thin line of having such an appearance productive and beneficial to the movie, or the negative of having somebody in it just to have somebody in it.

Well, think about Hamil reprising his role to the point of Mace Windu. He's not in it much but plays a pivotal role.
The Star Wars universe is awesome, but I feel that the movies were good because they occurred at the perfect moment in time in the history of films.
I just don't think that can be recreated. The focus on special effects and cuteness overshadow the real appeal to Star Wars which was always the mythology and allegory.
The expansion of the universe, which is what every original Star Wars fan thought they wanted (what happened in the clone wars (episodes 1-3), what happened after the empire fell (episodes 7-9?) doesn't make for as singular of a movie experience and I feel like might be better handled with a high end television series. That way they can take their time and develop deep storylines.
Just my 2 cents.
