Remember us? We are still starving. The lion story is sad for all of the afroemtioned reasons. It sure would be nice if people focused that kind of energy on the 1 billion starving people across the globe.
This is one lion. One child dies every 6 seconds from malnutrition. You guys want to talk about a slow and painful death? Kick when was the last humanitarian effort you've made towards mankind? Every donated time or money to helping people?
Since MJs is a knee jerk crowd like the rest of this country let me say again. The lion thing is horrible. I just wish people had one tenth the compassion shown towards one lion for their fellow man.
Thanks for the great post saint, pointing out all the hungry children and all. Unfortunately, posting that picture is the most you've ever done to help starving black kids anywhere. Usually you just bitch about them.
Here's a little "real life nice guy" information for you to consider. Cecil the lion was a tourist draw to Zimbabwe. The main source of income for the country. They actually have park Rangers that get killed defending the safety of these animals. Cecil being poached illegally hurts them.
Some here are actual humanitarians. They care about lives, all lives. Life is a precious commodity to them, especially innocent lives. So when they see someone from the states spend $55,000.00 on an illegal hunt, where the money goes mostly to the poachers, they don't really care if he had a live strong wristband on.
Individual Humanitarian efforts aren't listed on a resume and those that truly give, generally give their time and compassion. Rarely is a posted picture and racial innuendo helpful to an African child when she's hungry.
Today is Wednesday and I'll be stocking boxes at the food bank on Sylvania from 3-5p with my mom. I don't get a wrist band for it, but that's okay, I don't get one from dfw rescue me, or lost paws, or habitat for humanity either.
So you were saying about nice guys in real life again?
Hope this helps,
FDC
