I currently use bulls eye hickory for my ribs. First I slow cooking the ribs in "all natural" apple juice for 6-8 hours then throw on the BBQ on high for 15 minutes, put on the bbq sauce, then turn to low for another 5 minutes. Meat fall off the bone. Lately I'm gettin bored with the sauce, so I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you:toast:

Yep. Removes a crap load of fat and the meat is tender.
I've heard smoking ribs is the best, I'll have to invest in a smoker this summer.
My question was, what BBQ do you guys use?

Big Green Egg - Smoker/cooker.

There is a guy in my hometown who cooks on the BGE and brings ribs to the local TV show. Hs ribs are literally perfect. He does do something with them in apple juice, but he also smokes them.....

Mine come out perfect in the BGE too. l Slow cook those bad boys all day at about 200 degrees. I spray them with apple juice and also wrap them in foil with apple juice after they are done. They are still cooking in that foil for about an hour.

Above the Clouds....
Yep, baste them with apple cider while they are cooking.

I never put BBQ sauce on them while cooking. The suger in the sauce will burn.

Sauce on the side if anyone wants it.

:nono: in Texas we dont boil our ribs or put beans in chili

I use williams rib tickler

let the ribs sweat, sit out for an hour with the rub on them and cook on grill 350 degrees turning them every 5 minutes until done, no sauce needed

I never heard of spraying them with apple juice:shrug: might have to try that

Luling City Market Bar-B-Que Sauce is the best I have found.

We've been making and selling our own mustard-based Bar-B-Que sauce for over 20 years now. Our sauce is famous - it is regularly shipped to locations all over the United States, and is the perfect addition to just about any meal.

We make it here from a special recipe - you can't get it anywhere else, but you CAN get it from us. Our special Bar-B-Que sauce is so good you can use it on everything from meat, eggs and seafood to just plain old crackers.

Luling City Market ships to any location in the continental United States, so if your party is in need of authentic Texas Bar-B-Que, give us a call.

Sauce is shipped in a 16 oz. plastic bottle different from the one pictured here, and is available $5.00 a bottle or 12 to a case.

Curious than how do you keep the ribs from being too dry?

pork ribs stay decently moist. I just dip my rib in sauce or eat it with none, its your choice. I dont like all the sauce, it takes away from the flavor of the meat.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
That is excellent sauce!

A good copy of the sauce from one of the most transcendent BBQ joints in the world. City Market BBQ in Luling, TX. The two places aren't really related, easy to confuse the two. Much easier to order sauce from the place in Houston.

Here's a fine pix of spread at City Market BBQ - Luling, TX. I found this pix off 'net but believe me--it looks just like this and tastes better! My favorite place for brisket!

My brother bought a $3000 smoker last summer and we use it almost weekly. They are deer and hog hunters so they have endless meats in their deep freeze.
I think there is nothing better than smoked ribs, sausage, or brisket. My wife is not a fan of smoked brisket and what not so I guess it is a preference to the taste buds.

Sticking with the topic though, if you are looking for store bought sauce then I think STUBBS is simply the best. They are based in Austn so not sure if this can be found on shelves outside of Texas, but it kills other store bought sauce.

They sell Stubbs up here in Chicago and it is the sauce I typically use.
