Well....speaking about Muslims and criminals -
The county I live in has a significant Muslim population.
Each day the local newspaper publishes the criminal charges filed by the Police and Sheriff, including names and photographs. On most days it's about 4 or 5 perps.
Some are male, some female, some white, some black. Judging by surnames, some are Hispanic. I'm sure some are Christians.
I glance at those arrests in the paper each day. So far, I've never seen a Muslim name.

I'm caustic, opinionated, abrasive and a bit overbearing at times. Sixfive was probably correct when he said I like to get the last word in. I accept these as some of my shortcomings and I do try to curtail them. I'm not always successful and I'm far from perfect. I do try to grow as a human being every day and yes I certainly know this particular post is somewhat of an example of where I can go wrong.
I also don't follow you around making shitty little remarks to you. I generally try to ensure my posts are accurate or at least well thought out. I readily apologize or admit error when I'm wrong. None of that makes me a good person. The complete lack of all these traits in you is what puts you as a bad person in my book.
Several times I've actually reached out to you on here and I've also made posts thanking you for a sympathetic word you have surprised me with in the past, so it's not unfathomable for me to believe that somewhere deep within yourself, you may actually possess some intelligence and compassion. These character traits look far better on you than this bullshit.
You can take all this however you wish. You can deepen your dislike for me because you think I'm digging at you, or you can consider that I may actually mean well. We don't have to plan a trip to Cabo together but we might be able to cohabitate without the constant bullshit.
I disagree with many others on here politically and on many social issues. They're also people I'd go out of my way to have a beer or visit with and I'd greet them with the same smile I always have when I'm amidst friends.

Im curious why many Liberals, who despise Christians because of some their conservative views on issues like gay marriage and womens rights, defend Muslims so vigorously when they share many of those same views??

First of all, for the millionth time, I am NOT a liberal. Unfortunately (or fortunately, in my case) I don't quite fit into your simple dichotomy of liberal or conservative. So there's that.
Additionally, I don't identify with ANY religion. I believe that there are positives, but mostly negatives in ALL religions and their respective followers. So, to put it in very simple terms, I am no more fascinated with Islam as I am with Judaism. However, I do interact with individuals who belong to both, and pretty much ALL religions. That's part and parcel of being a professor in a country that privileges diversity and multiculturalism. So although there are distinct differences between the groups, whether due to religion or culture, what I find similar in each of them is their humanity.
I tend to respond similarly, regardless of which group is being oppressed or demonized.
